AUSTRALIAN Muslims are angry about an internet game in which players set out to “wipe out the Muslim race with an arsenal of the world’s most destructive weapons”. No one in the Australian Government seems able to do anything about it…
The game was created by a Brisbane man and was removed from his website after the initial complaints from Mr Trad about a month ago.
But it remained available on a Canadian website [that is, Domain Privacy Group, Inc., c/o muslimmassacre.com, 5160 Yonge St. Suite 1800, Toronto, ON M2N 6L9, CA, is the address given for the registrant -- the IP location is the United States].
Following publicity in The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald yesterday [Asher Moses, Muslim Massacre online game causes outrage, November 4, 2008], the game vanished from the Canadian site.
It is not clear, however, if there is anything the law can do to stop it reappearing in yet another corner of the internet.

In 2006, the Government was powerless to remove from the internet a racist board game based on the Cronulla riots. It was eventually removed by the US-based web host, Angelfire, following extensive lobbying by anti-racism groups.
Similarly, in 2007 a game based on the Virginia Tech massacre, developed by a Sydney man, was removed by its web hosting service after the Federal Government failed to come up with a way of using its powers to have the game blocked.
However, this sort of content could be blocked in future if the Government proceeds with its controversial plans for mandatory ISP-level filters of “illegal” material.
A Sydney-based Jewish businessman bankrolling a shoot-’em-up warfare game pitting Israeli troops against Iranians says the aim is to “throw out a challenge to Iran” after its President vowed to wipe Israel off the map.
But Kevin Bermeister, world renowned for being sued by the music industry in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit over the Kazaa file-sharing program, said his intention was also to take the war between Jews and Muslims out of the real world and into cyber space.
The online multiplayer game, Rising Eagle - Gaza, was officially released as a free download less than a week ago. It earns revenue through advertising billboards peppered throughout the game environment…
And on the third hand…
Muslim Massacre has been around for a while, its creator, Eric Vaughan (Brisbane), announcing its launch in June 2008. It came to the attention of the corporate/state media three months later, in September. Initially, Eric withdrew the game, and issued an apology. Subsequently, he changed his mind, and republished it. Since then, the game has been republished elsewhere, including two sites hosted by local neo-Nazis: Martin Fletcher (Sydney) of the Australian Protectionist Party on his Downunder Newslinks site, and Colin Campbell (Adelaide), a Creator (a member of a tiny white supremacist religious cult).
In addition to being a webmaster for the APP — which is currently seeking to bring British Nationalist Party leader Nick Griffin to Australia next month — Martin is also responsible for distributing online the “racist board game based on the Cronulla riots” (otherwise known as Cronulla 2230), Holocaust denial and other anti-Semitic literature, and the cartoons produced by Tom Metzger’s ‘White Aryan Resistance’ (even earning Tom’s praise for doing so). Here’s an example of Martin/WAR’s humourous take on racial politics:
In October 1990, the SPLC won $12.5 million in damages against Tom Metzger and WAR when a Portland, Oregon, jury held the neo-Nazi group liable in the beating death of an Ethiopian immigrant (Mulegeta Seraw; seeAnti-fascist organizing in Portland 1988-1993, October 12, 2007 for more details). Terrible Tom was also implicated in an earlier crime when, in 1988, five members of the original ‘Confederate’ Hammerskins in Dallas — Christopher Greer, 23, John Jordan, 17, Michael Lawrence, 20, Sean Tarrant, 18 and Daniel Wood, 18 — “chased and attacked minorities who attempted to enter Robert E. Lee Park in downtown Dallas. The five were apparently inspired by a racist rally they attended in Tulsa that June where Tom Metzger, leader of White Aryan Resistance (WAR) spoke. When they were arrested, the defendants had baseball bats and broken pieces of concrete, which they apparently intended to use to recreate the Kristallnacht to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the attacks on Jewish stores and homes that took place on November 9, 1938 in Nazi Germany”. The five were sentenced for the crime in April, 1990.
The Hammerskins are active in Australia, and help to organise (along with the local Blood & Honour franchise) a yearly gig in Melbourne. In addition, Newcastle band Blood Red Eagle (led by the diminutive warbler of Viking songs Douglas Schott) are proud to be considered part of the Hammerskin Nation, and have even played Portland (October 2007) and New Zealand (April 2007). Several years ago, a former moderator of Stormfront Downunder, David Innes, arranged to have his personal website hosted by a racist crank from South Australia called Colin Campbell III, aka“Reverend Col Campbell 3rd, Komandant WCOTR”. Col’n was at that time (mid-2006) the Australian representative of the White Crusaders Of The RaHoWa!™ — one of the many splinters from Matt Hale’s Church of the Creator.

Since then, despite starring in a feature in Zoo magazine on ‘The Most Dangerous Men In Australia’, David has been denounced as a Race Traitor™, given the boot from Stormfront Downunder by his Yanqui masters, and the position of Fat Controller has been taken up by his brother and fellow Nutzi, Paul Innes, under whose expert guidance the forum has rapidly declined in popularity.
The idea that Paul Innes is also a ZOG™ agent is of course completely preposterous.
As for Col’n, he and his fellow Creators — one in Victoria and one in Queensland — are engaged in a ding-dong battle with the other Creator in Australia, the Reverend Patrick O’Sullivan, for legitimate title to the reins of the Church Down Under. While Col’n and the other pair maintain a number of Creator sites — not without a few hiccups along the way — Patrick has denounced the other mob as being agents of ZOG JOG™. Rather than maintaining a web presence, Patrick spends his valuable time putting stickers up around town and treating fellow Stormfront members to brief, angry missives. Patrick’s own mob is now known as ‘The Creativity Movement’ (TCM), and he is listed by the US-based cult as the main (and only) contact for Australia (PO Box 1622, Collingwood, 3066, Victoria, paxrahowa88@hotmail.com). According to Col’n:
For those that are not in the know, TCM is an abbreviation that refers to a group who call themselves “The Creativity Movement”. Prior to TCM’s formation in 2003, any reference to “the Creativity Movement” was in relation to all Creators, no matter what their status was within The Church. Since that date, things have changed. On April 6, 2005, ‘Pontifex Maximus’ Matt Hale was sentenced to a 40-year prison term for his attempt to solicit the murder of Judge Joan Lefkow, who had ruled against Hale’s Church in a patent case. Lefkow was vilified as a “probable Jew,” “criminal judge” and “kike- and nigger-loving” traitor. Hale’s projected release date is December 6, 2037.
Since his incarceration, Hale has become something of a martyr for Creators, as well as other Nutzis. Recently, William ‘Bill’ White, Pontifex Maximus of the “American National Socialist Workers Party” (ANSWP), has been arrested and jailed for allegedly using his website to solicit another person to injure a juror in Hale’s case on account of their role as the foreperson of the jury that convicted him.

Creepy Australians
Closer to home, fellow Stormfront member Dr James Saleam recently made a trip to Wellington to address several score boneheads belonging to the New Zealand National Front as they gathered outside the Parliament building. While there, ‘Jim’ took the opportunity to have himself photographed fondling a book which once belonged to Asher, one of the individuals involved in FightDemBack! in New Zealand.
Exactly why the Jew-hating Jim agreed to have his photo taken — and why he gave permission to Queensland-based neo-Nazi Jim Perren to publish it on his blog, ‘Whitelaw Towers’ — is unexplained. (The caption which accompanies the photo reads “Australia First spokesperson Jim Saleam checks out Asher Goldman’s favorite [childhood] book… hopefully to get some insight into the twisted mind of a Zionist. The inscription reads ‘To our darling Asher on your third birthday love mummy and daddy’.”) After all, it was only a few months ago, in September, that Dr. Jim registered his disapproval of a political prank directed at his party during local council elections: “There are a number of standard lines people tend to trot out when they want to oppose us,” he said. “This Nazi rubbish is one of them”. Being pictured holding a childhood book which once belonged to a young Jewish man — a number of whose relatives perished in the Holocaust — is just… well… c r e e p y.
And just the kind of thing you’d expect from a Nutzi.

Though it resembles a promotional still from the 1960 horror flick The Brides of Dracula, starring Peter Cushing, the photo (which apparently circulated among white supremacists on the Internet) actually shows Women for Aryan Unity activist Victoria “Vickie” Cahill standing over the embalmed (we hope!) corpse of David Lane, one of the inner-circle members of the Bruders Schweigen, or Silent Brotherhood, a white nationalist terrorist organization also known as The Order…
…Cahill has raised the ire of another prominent female in the white nationalist movement — Abby Chelf, the wife of Randal Krager, leader of the racist skinhead gang Volksfront — by distributing an essay that was harshly critical of Christian Identity, a bizarre racist interpretation of the Bible that is practiced by as many as 50,000 white nationalists, including Chelf.
Cahill subscribes to Wotanism, the racist neo-pagan religion promulgated by Lane.
Titled “Christian Identity, The Synagogue of Satan,” the essay called Christian Identity practitioners “direct enemies of our folk and our Heathen roots” and “a weed that needs to be viciously ripped out.”
Judging by the blistering responses on Volksfront’s website, it’s safe to say Chelf and her fellow Volksfront skins are looking to smash Cahill’s pumpkin.”

The New Zealand National Front (NZNF) held a rally in Wellington on Saturday, October 25. This follows former NF secretary Kerry Bolton’s successful campaign to have a thesis examining the links between neo-Nazi and Satanic beliefs in New Zealand removed from Waikato University. According to Radio New Zealand, 120 people in total attended the NF’s celebrations of National Flag Day outside Parliament, and 30 police kept the peace. (TV3 reckons 150 people attended.) Other sources suggest that the 120 or 150 people present were fairly evenly divided between decent, flag-saluting, law-abiding white folk, on the one hand, and indecent, law-breaking, flag-burning criminals, on the other.

Anti-fascist activists gathered at the Cenotaph in Wellington this morning in opposition to the Nationalist Alliance, a coalition comprising white-supremacist groups the National Front, New Right and the National Democrats.
A banner was hung from the Cenotaph (”No racism - Anti-Fascist Action”) as around 65 anti-fascists danced and held the Cenotaph as a fascist free space, removing a fascist photographer from the New Right from the area.
The fascists were expected at 11am, however they must have missed their train and finally showed up at 11.30am. Instead of approaching the Cenotaph, they were escorted by police up Molesworth Street to Parliament grounds. There were around 40 fascists present, many of them waving New Zealand flags.
The anti-fascists claimed victory for holding the Cenotaph and charged up the bank to Parliament grounds where a line of police and a metal fence protected the fascists. “More hair than brains”, “No room for racism” and “Hey hey, ho ho, your racism has got to go” were chanted, drowning out all the speeches by the fascists. Jim Saleam, who served time in jail for firebombing a Brisbane bookshop and organising a shotgun attack against a representative of the African National Congress, Steve Larsen from the New Right and Kyle Chapman all attempted to give speeches - without success.
The fascists retreated after about 30 mins and were chased to the train station by anti-fascist activists. Bagels were thrown at them while they were protected by a police line. Two antifa were arrested by police at that point. Following a scuffle, some anti-fascists went to the train station, just in time for 3 fascists to emerge. They were chased across Bunny Street and again had bagels thrown at them. They were protected by a lone cop who tried (and failed) to arrest an antifa, while frantically calling for back-up. All the anti-fascists managed to get away safely and went to the police station, waiting for their comrades to be released.
Once again, the day was a victory for the anti-fascists!
The anti-fascist rally at the Cenotaph was already cranking by the time that I got there, 30 or so people at 10 o’clock. We aimed to be there an hour before the boneheads did just to be sure. There was a sound system playing truly cheesy disco hits and about 30 people in black-bloc-meets-circus costumes. There were a few cops around but it wasn’t too heavy.
The train from the Hutt carrying the boneheads was due around 11. They turned up with their customary police escort. The bypassed the Cenotaph entirely and headed to the Parliament lawn around the monument of King Dick Seddon. Ironically, there were quite a few 5′-5′2″ (fully-grown) warriors amongst them.
There was a bit of chanting and general yelling back and forth. As noted, they had their kids out the front in case we threw something. The chants petered out (”more hair than brains” was still the best to date). Individual remarks were exchanged, some wittier than others. Most memorable was “this National Front demonstration was brought to you by the methadone clinic”. Angry Guy was my fave, he was this 5′-nothing pot-bellied aging bulldog of a dude with bodgy tatts and decked out in classic bonehead garb. He kept yelling and giving us the finger, which was very mediapathic for his whole crew.
The assorted boneheads milled around about 10m behind a metal barricade, flanked by Parliamentary Security on one side and cops on the other. When our mob got up the hill and partway up parliamentary lawns, the cops formed a line stopping us another 10m or so short of the barricade. The short, stocky fellow with the Totenkopf on his shirt and the Confederate buckle asked us why we supported paedophiles.
Kyle and Jim made speeches, but the police presence deterred any kind of public attendance other than a few bemused tourists. They snapped a whole bunch of pictures and filmed us for their current Redwatch effort. Some yelled at us to remove our masks, even though there was at least one masked bonehead amongst them.
After a rather brief stay, they made their way back to the train station via the underground tunnel. We got as far as the tunnel entrance, when I had my back turned there was a scuffle and a couple of people got arrested. The cops seemed unnecessarily rough and there was a lot of screaming.
Some people split off and moved down to the main entrance, where we’d spotted three boneheads with a lone cop. We followed them for a bit, bagels or miscellaneous other items were thrown. There was another scuffle, but no arrests. The cop got some back-up there eventually (see the TVNZ footage of the cops running off).
That was pretty much the day, they got the train back out to the Hutt and we went back to whatever we were doing.
As noted, among those in attendance at the rally was Dr James Saleam, Führer of the Australia First Party (NSW Inc.). The ‘Mad Arab’ — as he was once dubbed by his political rivals on the far right — has cobbled together an ‘Alliance’ between his party and various denizens of the far right in New Zealand; principally the National Front, but including the National Democrats and the New Right.
In his usual manner, Herr Doktor opined NZ Flag Day Was A Great Success For The Nationalists: ANZAC Ties Strengthened Between NZ And Australian Nationalists! “…Just under 70 nationalists were confronted by 34 or so anarchists! It is no accident that the rebirth of the two countries as independent realities based upon their Euro culture but with new identities born of history, is opposed here by the same negative forces as would oppose us in Australia. These dross will serve only to delay your victory but not frustrate it. Inside the parliament sit men in suits who would sell out their country, to globalise it. Here protesting are those unclean drugged out ones who would do the exact same thing. How ironic, and yet these out here say they are opposed to those in there. It’s almost scum above and scum below… I reiterated my words [on TV] and said that the NZ movement was professionalising itself as were we in Australia!”
One of Dr Saleam’s former allies is Mark Wilson, who has since jumped ship and joined Saleam’s arch-enimy the Australian Protectionist Party. In this capacity, Mark addressed the BNP’s RedWhite & Blue festival this year. In 2005, however, Mark was still on good terms with Herr Doktor, and echoed his thoughts on the rabble of rowdy rebels who apparently threatened to close the 2005 Sydney Forum. “Last but not least, there was the threat of “mass demonstrations”. It was said “two thousand screaming leftists”, anti-white racists in fact, were to “shut down” the Forum. Or so said a pro status-quo group of Israel supporters called ‘Fight Dem Back’. A grand total of thirteen (13) sad, brainwashed, pro-system haters eventually turned up to stop us from having our lawful free-speech gathering.”
Boo!
More ominously, Mark noted that “[o]ne important event was the Patriotic Youth League (PYL) national meeting which was held at a very friendly Sydney watering-hole. New young people stepped forward to staff existing branches and start a new one.”
White men! White women! The flag is calling you. The scared and ancient symbol of your race, since the beginning of time. The Jew is using The Black as muscle against you. Darrin and Martin are Protectionists: they want to protect (White) Australia from Asians, Muslims, Communism, Multiculturalism, teh Gays, Muslims, and Asians. (And Muslims.) Once an admirer of Hitler, a Jew-hater, a member of Don Black’s Stormfront website and Dr James Saleam’s Australia First Party, Hodges has since been expelled from/renounced his membership of the Party (denounced as the ‘Australian Faggot Party’), denied his membership of Stormfront, made his peace with ZOG, and, presumably, learnt that public expressions of support for Mr Hitler are unlikely to endear him to the electorate. In other words, Darrin used to share Martin’s ongoing hatred and contempt for The Jew (the pair met via Stormfront) but in the last few years has transferred his hatred for The Jew to Islam.
“I’m more interested in the purer form of fascism… and while I don’t subscribe to the whole ‘worship Hitler’ thing, his comments on multiculturalism and politics in general are still just as relevant today as they were 70-odd years ago” he once wrote. On June 20, 2005, he added that “i cant say im into the whole national socialist thing - as far as im concerned, National Socialism died with it’s [sic] creator, not that i do not have any regard for his writings, indeed, they still have much relevance today - he laid a foundation that we should build on”. And just for good measure, a week later (June 26) Darrin further noted that “i have some good colour footage (no sound) of Adolf Hitler at The Berghoff. PM me if you want a copy of the footage”. (’darrinh’ joined the world’s premiere White supremacist website in June 2005.)
Still, that was aeons (three years) ago, and most recently Darrin has (re-)converted his website campaigning for election to Sutherland Shire council (Darrin got 333 votes) into ‘The Infidel Diaries’, from which vantage point he wishes to propagandise against Islam. Its true face, he argues, is Death, Terror, Violence.
Speeches along those lines will presumably be delivered by British National Party Führer Nick Griffin when he arrives in Australia in December on a tour sponsored by Darrin and Martin’s party.
UK judge throws out Australian’s holocaust denial case

A British judge has dismissed a case against a South Australian man who is wanted in Germany for Holocaust denial.
Fredrick Toben was arrested at Heathrow airport earlier this month while he was in transit from America to Dubai.
He is wanted in Germany on charges that he is a Holocaust denier, after his Adelaide Institute website published claims that there was no mass murder of Jews by the Nazis.
Overnight a British court found the arrest warrant was invalid, describing it as vague and imprecise.
The prosecution has lodged an appeal with the High Court but the 64-year-old has been granted conditional bail until the case is heard early next year.
He will be released from custody after he comes up with $250,000. He will also have to stay in the UK, and he has been banned from using the internet.
The “Nationalist Alliance” are holding a rally for “Flag Day” in Wellington this Saturday October 25. The “Alliance” consists of the National Front along with two groups made up of people who broke away from the NF: Kerry Bolton’sNew Right and Anton Foljambe’s National Democrats. Funny that the latter should be part of the Nationalist Alliance seeing as just a few months ago the National Democrats website announced that they had dissolved due to lack of support! We guess Anton needs to have something to make himself look important.
What is interesting is that some time after a public spat last year between the then-NF leader Sid Wilson and the New Right, Kyle Chapman took charge of the NF again.
To help celebrate NZ Flag Day they’ve even invited some Australians along, most notably Jim Saleam, who is most well known for his years of dressing up in replica Nazi uniforms during rallies. Oh, and for being jailed for the arson of a left-wing bookshop and a shotgun attack on the home of the African National Congress representative to Australia, Eddie Funde, in Sydney.
The NF have previously held rallies to commemorate NZ Flag Day on the Cenotaph next to Parliament on Labour Weekend in 2004 and 2005. In 2006 they held their rally on the lawns of the empty Parliament building. The irony, which seems to escape them, is that they have held their rally under the Cenotaph’s inscription “Lest We Forget 1939-1945″, whilst a number of NF members have stood there sporting swastika tattoos and SS insignia on their clothing. During their 2004 rally one of their members even performed a nazi salute to TV camera crews and declared “The white revolution starts here”.
This statement was released by Minister Chris Evans’s office on October 17, 2008.
All non-citizens who wish to enter Australia must satisfy the requirements of the Migration Act and regulations, including the character test.
The character test includes provisions to ensure that a non-citizen will not vilify, incite discord in or represent a danger to the Australian community, or a segment of that community.
Griffin has not yet applied for a visa. If and when an application is made it will be assessed against the character requirements.
The Labor Party strongly opposes the fostering of extremism, hatred, division and incitement to violence.

Catalyst is working with community, faith, union and human rights organisations to prevent the visit to Australia of Nick Griffin in December 2008. Griffin is the leader of the far right British National Party and is connected with some of the most extremist right wing individuals and organisations around the globe.
Nick Griffin has been convicted of incitement to racial hatred in the UK. He was denied entry to Australia in 1998 by the former Minister Philip Ruddock. Ten years on, his views remain deeply offensive and divisive.
Griffin has been invited here by the recently formed Australian Protectionist Party (APP) who have said he is here to talk about the BNP’s “fight to protect Britain and its people from the demographic genocide that is threatening their homeland, caused by the large-scale immigration of people from the Third World.”
The APP are a minority organisation who are using Nick Griffin to raise their own profile to peddle racism and abuse.
Tell the Minister that we have no place here for the extremist views of far right politicians like Nick Griffin.
Ask the Minister to use his power to refuse or deny entry to Mr Griffin. Under the Migration Act, the Minister can take steps to refuse a visa where there is a risk that a person will vilify, incite, create discord or represent a danger to the community.

Murdered Korean backpacker’s body found

A man was today committed for trial for the murder of Korean backpacker Jae Hyeon Kim as police hope to recover his body tomorrow.
Justices of the Peace found a prima facie case had been made against former Nelson fisherman Shannon Brent Flewellen, 29, after a three-day depositions hearing in Greymouth District Court.
He entered a not guilty plea as he was committed in custody for trial in the High Court in Christchurch.
The committal concluded a hearing which started with dramatic scenes as armed police guarded the court against fears of skinhead protests when three men faced charges on Monday.
Yesterday a 31-year-old man, whose name is suppressed, pleaded guilty to murdering Mr Kim at Charleston, near Westport, in September or October 2003.
He was committed for sentence at the High Court in Wellington in December.
On Monday another man admitted there was a prima facie case against him, but the charge, which he denied, and other details have been suppressed. He was remanded to appear in the High Court at Christchurch on November 21.
Detective Inspector John Winter said this morning police expect to exhume the remains of Mr Kim from the Four Mile River area near Charleston, south of Westport, tomorrow.
Mr Kim’s parents had been told about the discovery of a gravesite via the Korean consulate.
Yesterday an associate of Flewellen told the court he had confessed to killing and decapitating 25-year-old Mr Kim with a spade, after picking him up as he was hitchhiking at the Four Mile River bridge in October 2003.
A Nazi link emerged early in the hearing when the Crown alleged that Flewellen throttled Mr Kim and then held his foot on his throat until he was dead, while his associate spoke a Nazi phrase “Nein blut”, meaning “no blood”.
Yesterday, two women, former associates of Flewellen, gave evidence.
The first said Flewellen confessed to her that he and two others had murdered an Asian hitchhiker.
“He told me they picked up an Asian backpacker and they killed him. He said he (Flewellen) was with two others.
“Shannon said he stood on his (Mr Kim’s) throat with his boot and cut his head off with a spade.”
The witness believed it was only Flewellen who carried out the murder, but agreed there was nothing said about what the others involved had done.
“He was relaxed when he was telling us — like he had just changed his socks or something.”
She claimed to have seen Flewellen burn someone’s personal belongings in the fire.
“It was jeans and undies and a brown wallet or passport, but I didn’t get a clear look at them.”
The second witness said she had noticed a change in the way Flewellen presented himself in 2003. He cut his hair down to the skin, changed a tattoo on his body and shaved his eyebrows.
She also said that she had had discussions with Flewellen about Hitler and the war, and his belief in the “Aryan race and keeping things pure”.
A Nelson detective told the court today that he interviewed Flewellen about the murder.
Bruce Alan McLaughlin said he asked the accused about a missing Asian tourist and asked if he knew anything about it.
Flewellen told him he was only being spoken to because he (Flewellen) was a skinhead.
“The accused declined to give his side of the story when he was asked and said he knew nothing about what I was talking about.”
When he was shown a picture of Mr Kim he said he had never seen him before, adding that “they all look the same”.
Flewellen was formally charged with the murder and taken to the Nelson police station.
“I spoke to him at the cells at the station and when I was leaving Flewellen said he (Mr Kim) was only an overstayer anyway.
Kim arrived on a backpacking trip around New Zealand in February 2003. The last trace he left was an eftpos transaction at a Westport bar on September 29 of that year.
He was reported missing by his family in May 2004.
Man pleads guilty to murder of backpacker

One of two men charged with murdering a backpacker on the West Coast five years ago, today surprised a depositions hearing in Greymouth District Court by pleading guilty.
The 31-year-old former Westport man, who has name suppression, dropped the bombshell at the start of the second day of the hearing into the murder of Korean Jae Hyeon Kim, 25, near Charleston south of Westport, in October 2003.
The man was remanded in custody to be sentenced in the High Court at Wellington on December 6.
Yesterday, the court was told how two German words were uttered as Mr Kim was throttled and murdered while hitchhiking down the West Coast.
Jointly charged with the man who today admitted the murder is Shannon Brent Flewellen, 29, a Nelson fisherman. A third man, who has a blanket suppression order including the nature of the charge he faces, was dealt with yesterday afternoon.
He denied the charge and was remanded to appear in the High Court at Christchurch on November 21 for a pre-trial conference.
At the start of the hearing yesterday crown prosecutor Chris Lange alleged that Mr Kim’s killers dug a hole and buried him in a remote site. The body has not been recovered, despite a week-long police search of the Four Mile River bridge site, just south of Charleston township.
Flewellen sat handcuffed in the dock, while the other two defendants sat with their lawyers but were flanked by police reinforcements.
Mr Lange said Flewellen and his associates were travelling from Westport to Runanga in October 2003, when they spotted Mr Kim hitchhiking near the Four Mile River.
“They turned their vehicle around and went back to Westport to drop off a dog, and when they came back Mr Kim was still at the bridge and they picked him up.”
The Crown alleged that the vehicle stopped just before the bridge and Flewellen and an associate got out to retrieve some cannabis from the bush. When they returned they pretended the vehicle had become stuck.
Flewellen, Mr Kim and another man got out to try to free the vehicle.
“This is when Flewellen attacked Mr Kim,” Mr Lange said.
“He attacked him from the back. He put him in a choker hold and put pressure on his throat.
“An associate held Mr Kim’s arms down and said `nein blut’ - which means `no blood.”‘
Mr Lange alleged that Flewellen then put his foot on Mr Kim’s throat to ensure he had stopped breathing.
The victim’s body was then taken into the bush. His backpack was later retrieved from the scene of the killing and the contents destroyed.
“Later, Flewellen and his associate went back to the scene, dug a hole, where they buried the victim.”
Mr Lange said the Crown had 25 witnesses, including members of the dead man’s family, and associates of the defendants who would tell the court of admissions to the crime that they had made to various people.
No forensic evidence would be presented because a body had not been located and the vehicle the defendants travelled in had been destroyed.
Unlike yesterday, there were no armed police guarding the Greymouth courthouse today although a police dog and handler continued to roam nearby streets and everyone who entered the court was scanned by a metal detector and underwent bag searches.
Police said the extra security was a precaution because white supremacist followers had turned up at a previous court appearance, in Westport.
