A TEENAGER who launched a racist attack against an Asian student in Hobart’s bus mall walked free today.

Samantha Margaret Scorse, 18, of Berriedale, had stabbed the 15-year-old boy while trying to rob him of his mobile phone.

She had told him to “go back to your own country” before plunging a pair of scissors into his upper arm.

Justice Pierre Slicer said her offensive and racist language was an aggravating factor in the crime.

But he said she was a troubled young woman had also been a victim of violent behaviour.

The judge said she had an alcohol problem and there was a tentative diagnosis she had a borderline personality disorder.

He sentenced her to four months in jail wholly suspended on a two-year good behaviour bond.

Scorse had pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court in Hobart to attempted aggravated armed robbery.

How much can Druidictus bear?

A pun!

Read through this thread on our forum paying particular attention to the last couple of pages and all will be made clear.

Is there a moral to this particular story?

Sort of. “People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” comes to mind. If our speculative line of thought is on the money, we have an over-riding directive to consider as well. Just accept yourself or maybe wind up acting out Chris Cooper’s role of Colonel Frank Fitz in American Beauty.

LESTER: (softly)Just tell me what you need.

The Colonel reaches up and places his hand on Lester’s
cheek… and then kisses him. Lester is momentarily stunned,
and then he pushes the Colonel away. The Colonel’s face
crumples in shame.

LESTER: (cont’d) Whoa. You got the wrong idea, pal. I do not go there.

The COLONEL stares at the floor, blinking, and then He turns
and runs out the open garage door into the rainy night.

“What a sad old man you are.”

We cop a lot of threats here at FDB. Not surprising really considering the global track record of the far-right when it comes to utilising fear, violence, intimidation and other threatening behaviour to bring about their political ends.

We get them all; death threats, general threats to our physical safety, threats to the safety of our families and loved ones, threats to our property, or the property of our family(s).

What we have not received (until today that is) is a threat from a racist activist who also claims to be a “law enforcement official”.
