RACIST hate mail has left two single mothers in Paradise fearing for their safety and terrified to let their children outside.
The Ugandan families received hand-written threats on Tuesday, January 15 - two days after moving to their new Harris St homes.

“Africans. We’re all watching you …'’ the identical letters began. “You f*** our neighbourhood up, we will f*** you up. Is that clear.

“We don’t want you here. You are not welcome.'’

Mother of six Abuk Deng Dor, who cannot speak English, told the East Torrens Messenger through translator and sister-in-law Athieng Ngot Riiny she was “very afraid'’.

She would not let her children play outside for fear of attack and asked if she had moved into a “particular area for white people'’ only.

Toben reneges on apology, defies court order

From the Australian Jewish News:

Toben pulls apology, denial material remains on website
PETER KOHN

DESPITE a last-minute reversal, Adelaide Holocaust denier Dr Fredrick Toben will be held to an order from the Federal Court of Australia last week that he remove all material denying the Holocaust from his Adelaide Institute website by 4 pm on Wednesday (December 5).

Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ)’s Jeremy Jones, the successful applicant in a Federal Court of Australia hearing, told The AJN this week that Dr Toben’s apparent backdown from an apology he gave for his contempt of court last Tuesday did not alter the circumstances.

Toben apologises

From the Australian Jewish News:

Toben gives Holocaust denial apology in court
PETER KOHN

DR Fredrick Toben this week gave an apology in the Federal Court of Australia for being in contempt of court by continually featuring Holocaust denial material on his Adelaide Institute website.

He gave the apology during a contempt hearing of the Federal Court sitting in Adelaide on Tuesday.

After being called up to the bar by Justice Michael Moore to apologise if he agreed with it, Dr Toben began to give a qualified apology.

When Justice Moore said that his comments were inconsistent with an apology, Dr Toben gave a full apology, without embellishment and undertook to remove all Holocaust denial material from the website by 4pm on December 5 and not to replace it.

Racial abuse is rife in state
By Michael Owen
December 31, 2006 11:02pm

MUSLIMS in South Australia are being racially abused “like never before”, a Government report has found.

The trend has prompted the Equal Opportunity Commission to launch a new project to work with the SA Muslim community, described in the commission’s latest annual report as being “under pressure”.

The issue was touched on in October in Adelaide, when Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty told a Press Club lunch that rising levels of racism and hatred towards Muslims was likely to incite terrorism.

POLICE have told Indian students “to walk in groups” after at least six have been bashed in the past three months. It is believed an inner-northern suburbs gang is responsible for the attacks, which have all occurred in Collins St, Broadview, where there is a high Indian population.

In the latest attack, last Wednesday, Mihir Parakh, 26, lost some of the sight out of one eye after being set on by five members of the gang.

Mr Parakh spent three days in hospital and needed 12 stitches to his head and plastic surgery to his nose after he and a friend were bashed with sticks.

Toben defies court

From the Sunday Mail:

Race-hate site defies court
December 03, 2006

A RACE-HATE website operating from Adelaide has sparked a furious reaction from Australia’s top Jewish body.

The Executive Council of Australian Jewry is considering further legal action against Dr Fredrick Toben, 62, from Wattle Park, who runs the Adelaide Institute website.

Dr Toben was the subject of a Federal Court directive in 2002 preventing the publication of material that vilified Jews.

Despite the court ordering him to remove such material from his website, anti-Jewish articles are still accessible from the site.
