NF - Who are they calling ‘terrorists?’

Why are the National Front opposing bail for those arrested in the recent police raids against people who have been labeled “terrorists”? Perhaps the National Front should take a look at their own organisation and those that have made up its ranks past and present. There’s a lot for them to explain there.

Lets take a look, shall we?

Kyle Chapman prepares for “Moari terrorists”

In the wake of 17 people from Maori activist and environmental groups being arrested in NZ recently for some sort of “terrorist” conspiracy, former National Front leader Kyle Chapman has begun organising public “meetings about terror Issues” with right-wingers around New Zealand.

Kyle wants to discuss “Moari terrorism and how we as a movemnet would react to it” [sic], and “police crack downs and how we can protect ourselves from them.” He’s put a posting, readable by all, on white supremacist website “Stormfront,” but states the meetings are only for those who know him.

Well, we know him. It seems a bit rich that Kyle is concerned about “Moari terrorism” (Note: Kyle’s not big on spelling!)

Let’s take a look at Mr. Chapman’s background.

Threatened juror in Nazi case to flee country

From the Dom Post:

Swastika threat juror to flee NZ
September 8, 2007

A juror in a white supremacist kidnapping trial who received a drawing of a swastika with the words “not guilty” is leaving New Zealand so he can protect his family.

The note was left on the doorstep of his Hutt Valley home on July 13.

Lloyd James Bowling was ordered yesterday to stand trial for being party to an attempt to corruptly influence the juror, but no explanation has been given for how the juror’s home address was traced.

Whuh? Yeah, we got plenty of Maori - now pass the nachos

Sid “the Squid” Wilson seems to have been taking a few more hits on the bucket bong lately; he’s now claiming the National Front are attracting Maori members.

Funnily enough, at all their demos there hasn’t been a single brown-skinned person present in their ranks, which seem to always consist of a bunch of guys with shaved heads and nazi tattoos. Maori people have been observed letting the NF know what they think of them though.
NF leaders of the past have had plenty to say about Maori people. Former NF Fuhrer Kyle Chapman burned down a meeting house at a Southland marae in his younger days, Nic Miller described Maori as being “a bunch of niggers” on the now-defunct nzpolitcs.com forums when he was the NFs Wellington Rep, and let’s not forget the escapades of the NFs former Hamilton Rep Troy Cullinane.

Sid may delude himself that the NF has put all that behind them now but we suppose self-deception won’t do him any real harm. However we do get the feeling that Sid’s touchy-feely statements about Maori have more to do with the rather hot reception the NF got when they turned up to Waitangi Day celebrations last year claiming that the Government had failed to honour what he claimed was the ‘real’ Treaty, which turned out to be a draft document signed by nobody!

We don’t want to appear to be Cynical Cyril’s, but we suspect the NF’s newfound Maori contingent may exist in the same universe as some of their other more fanciful recruitment claims.

Kerry and the Holocaust Deniers

As the Adelaide Institute has been featured on FDB recently, we decided to take another look at what they get up to. The Adelaide Institute don’t feature much here, they’re basically a collection of dull old men who like to babble on about how the Holocaust never happened. A subject common amongst those on the far right. We had a look at their website and who should still have a series of articles on there but yet another dull old Holocaust denier - Kerry Bolton .

NZ National Front now openly Nazi?

From the Sunday News:

Nazi Piece Of Work - US Racists Recruit Kiwis

American Nazis are spreading their hateful message of white supremacy in New Zealand - and have set up two chapters here.

And the deputy leader of the National Socialist Movement last night told Sunday News he plans to set up multiple chapters of the high-profile US white power group across New Zealand.

“We want more chapters in New Zealand. I would like to see dozens of chapters,” Colonel Tim Bishop said.

The Minneapolis-based hate group - which uses Nazi Germany’s swastika - has branches in most US states and has spread to the UK, Sweden and South Africa.

“We’re a white rights organisation, we’re here to safeguard our people and we’re here to safeguard our culture and in New Zealand to organise the people who founded New Zealand,” Bishop said.

“All these units will operate in their area. They operate within the (Minneapolis) headquarter’s unit, but they are able to operate … as their own entity.”

A Sunday News investigation has revealed one of the National Socialist Movement’s Kiwi chapters is right-wing political party New Zealand National Front.

National Front driven out of Wellington

From the Herald On Sunday:

National Front marchers clash

Sunday October 22, 2006
By Keith Ng

National Front members clashed with protesters as they marched on Parliament yesterday, shocking tourists but leading to only one arrest.

Around 30 members of the National Front were in Wellington for their annual rally to “celebrate the New Zealand flag”. National Front Director Sid Wilson attacked multiculturalism, describing it as “genocide” and “holocaust” against white and Maori New Zealand.

The rally was met by an 80-strong counter-protest.

Ain’t no nazis here - Yeah, right! - Kerry Bolton revisited

The extreme right wing scene in New Zealand is a funny old freak show.

While there are plenty of young guys prepared to shave their heads and cover themselves in nazi tattoos, there are a few old guys who like to pretend that they aren’t like that. Kerry Bolton is one such person.

While being quietly supportive of the young guys, Kerry spends a lot of his time publicly trying to disassociate himself from nazism, but ends up in some rather interesting situations. Take for example, the Fascist Union. This was set up in early 1998 by old-school nazi Colin King-Ansell who hit the headlines a few months ago.

Kyle Chapman and Kerry Bolton were also involved in the Fascist Union. Kerry busied himself by denying in a few media articles that the Fascist Union had anything to do with racism or nazism, even though they had issued a somewhat extraordinary poster:

FU poster

…which declared that ‘immigrants wouldn’t get beaten up if they didn’t come to New Zealand.’

When is a fascist not a fascist?

Quite some time ago, FDB got a sent a copy of a booklet from the little publishing empire of Kerry Bolton. It caused a few smiles and even loud laughter before it began collecting dust on a shelf somewhere. Recently dusted off, we decided to give it another look. Bolton is an “old hand” of the far right scene in New Zealand and has made a career out of rehashing many of the same press releases and graphics over the last few decades.

But what of his more recent rantings? Well, for a mere $10 you can get a 44-page book titled “RED ALERT - Behind the smear campaign against Australasian Nationalists” by K R Bolton. Throughout the booklet Bolton tries to portray himself as a rather moderate right-winger, and constantly states that the various far-right groups throughout Australasia are the victims of a lefty smear campaign. The media have apparently been duped en-mass by this campaign and have gone forth to write endless articles saying these groups contain fascist, white supremacists and nazi elements, which in turn is what Kerry claims is what caused some people with dodgy right wing beliefs to join up. Yep, he’d have us believe that it was all a self-fulfilling prophecy. But we say bollocks! Those fascist, white supremacist and nazi elements have been there all along. And as Kerry’s booklet often uses the National Front to outline his argument, why don’t we do the same?
