White Nationalism Goes To The Polls

The 2010 Australian federal election is just a few days away, and while most eyes are on Labor, the Coalition and the Greens, there’s a range of other parties hoping to use the occasion to promote their agenda. Among these parties are a small number on the racist right-wing: the Australia First, Australian Protectionist and One Nation parties.

Below is a brief summary of their candidacy.

Australia First

Founded by former Labor MP Graeme Campbell in 1996, the Australia First Party has undergone a number of ups and downs in its short life, its initial Sturm und Drang stolen from it by a red-haired fish ‘n’ shop owner from Queensland. In 2001 it underwent something of a revival when veteran fascist Dr James Saleam joined the NSW branch, became its Secretary, and began reconstructing the party on a more systematically right-wing basis. The party split in mid-2007, with Saleam becoming its undisputed leader. In 2009, Saleam was the subject of an extensive profile in the Good Weekend (‘The Audacity of Hate’, September 26/27, 2009), one which — notwithstanding Saleam’s numerous objections to its alleged inaccuracies — provides a rather damning portrayal.

While it has participated in numerous elections before — its only success being the election of Bruce Preece to local council in Adelaide — 2010 is only the second that AF has contested since re-registering with the Australian Electoral Commission, and the party is standing just a handful of candidates in NSW, QLD and VIC. In NSW, its candidates are Tony Pettitt in Greenway and Mick Saunders in Lindsay. In QLD Peter Schuback and Nick Maine are running for the Senate, while in Victoria Alex Norwick is standing for the seat of Deakin.

None are expected to gain more than a handful of votes.

Australian Protectionist

Formed as a split from AF in 2007, the APP is currently unregistered, and is standing just two candidates in NSW for the Senate: party leaders Darrin Hodges and Nick Folkes. Hodges unsuccessfully stood for local council in 2008, while this appears to be Folkes first electoral contest. Hodges is a former member of AF, while both men are reputed to be former Liberals. The pair took part in a small rally in Newtown last weekend, but received a hostile response from locals. The APP’s principal concern is getting rid of Muslims, but it otherwise expresses a routine form of white nationalism, albeit one which veers between an assimilationist and rejectionist model.

One Nation

The One Nation party — best known for its earlier association with The Wicked Witch from Ipswich, Pauline Hanson — is a shadow of its former self, having undergone a sudden rise in the late 1990s, and an equally sharp decline in the early 2000s. The party lost its last MP, Rosa Lee Long, in the 2009 Queensland state election. While the party may be down it’s not gone, however, and is fielding candidates in NSW, NT, QLD, SA, VIC and WA.

In NSW, ON is putting up patriots in a total of fourteen (14) Lower House seats: Banks, Bennelong, Blaxland, Chifley, Cook, Hughes, Hunter, Kingsford Smith, Macarthur, New England, Paterson, Riverina, Robertson and Shortland. In NT it’s standing someone for the seat of Solomon. In SA, ON is contesting Makon and Sturt, in QLD Bowman, Fadden and Wide Bay, and has thrown up just the one candidate in Moore, WA. The party is also taking part in Senate contests in each of the mainland states.

Of the few dozen aspiring ON politicians, a handful are noteworthy. One is Kate McCulloch, the ON candidate in Macarthur. Briefly coming into the media spotlight during the course of a campaign against the construction of an Islamic school in Camden, it remains to be seen if she really is the Great White (Red Haired) Hope. More recently, the President of ON in Victoria, John Groves, has informed the world of his love of ‘Phoofter Bashing’ and his passionate hatred of Jews, the former comment prompted by Family First QLD Senate hopeful Wendy Francis comparing gay parenting to child abuse.

Another ON candidate (Riverina) who has gained some small degree of notoriety is Craig Hesketh, the party’s NSW publicity officer. Hesketh has received the official endorsement of AF, as he is a ‘nationalist’ and because he “has rightly spoken out against the refugee invasion of our country”. Quite strongly, too. On Facebook, Hesketh denounced “race traitors” and “immigrant whores”:

While he describes the Greens as “sick f*cks”:

On the other hand, as Hesketh noted in response to homophobic sentiment allegedly expressed by Nationals candidate Michael McCormack, “I think we’ve all said something [we've] regretted at some stage”.

Facebook rep lies to Brisbane Times about removing hate groups

The Brisbane Times quotes a Facebook rep as saying hate groups will be removed if reported.

We call bullshit.

Fuck Off We’re Full‘ (FOWF) has been reported to Facebook as a ToS violator over and over and over. Former FOWF admin Terrie-Anne Verney even got the sack from her job at community radio station 2MIA for the vilifying tripe she posted in the group. FOWF founder/admin & xenophobic bigot Darrin Hodges and his mates post commentary such as this:

Darrin Hodges - They shoulda aimed higher
Shooting asylum seekers ‘regrettable’ | The Daily Telegraph
THE Federal Government has described as “regrettable” the shooting of two suspected asylum seekers whose boat was intercepted by the Indonesian coast guard.

Kevin Downey Leeanne Styles - They were only wounded.. Shooter was obviously not up to scratch with his aim!!

Dave Starr -  2 down another 76 to go………..

Nicholas Hunter Folkes - Dave, this is not the Ocenaic Viking with the 78 criminals on board but another boat carrying 61 Afghans. More unskilled labour for the dole queues while Aussies are displaced on every level of society.

Dave Starr - ok, same shit , differant day……

Jonathan Paul - I would call it ”understandable” they are in Indonesian waters and they are showing no respect to the Indonesian authorities, I doubt they will change if they get here.

Nathan Townsend - use bombs instead of bullets!

Mike Him Self - Nathan with the economy in a shambles bullets work out cheaper(if there all headshots).

Nathan Townsend - as long as they don’t miss and end up having to hand out jobs, free health, housing and transport to the bastards.

…and yet FOWF remains online, even as we speak.

Facebook obviously approves of the content on FOWF- or it’d be off their system.

Groups rile against ‘Hatebook’
JOSHUA HOEY

Social networking site Facebook has come under pressure to better regulate its content as racist and offensive groups continue to proliferate on the site.

Facebook has a ban on “content that is hateful [and] threatening” and a spokeswoman for the site told brisbanetimes.com.au that there was no place for racism “or any form of hate speech” on Facebook.

“We will remove anything of this nature that is reported to us,” she said.

“Klub Naziya” at Humanist House rattles Chippendale locals

From the SMH:

Jeering crowd blocks meeting of extreme right
LEESHA MCKENNY
November 15, 2009

AN EXTREME right-wing group sparked anti-fascist protests after it was revealed it had been holding meetings in a Humanist Society hall in inner Sydney.

The Public Information Forum – also known as Klub Nation or Klub Naziya – was prevented from meeting on November 6 after about 50 protesters gathered at the Shepherd Street address in Chippendale.

Police were called to an earlier demonstration in October when protesters yelling “Nazis out” attempted to disrupt the meeting by banging on doors and windows.

“If they get the message that they are not welcome in Chippendale and move somewhere else we will follow them,” an online post from one protester read.

The group was banned from using the hall by the Humanist Society once before because of alleged racist associations.

David Duffy, the Humanist Society member responsible for bookings at the hall, said the group of about 30 young men had been meeting peacefully there for about eight years. He conceded the group was “right of centre” but said he did not believe it was a neo-Nazi group.

“The sort of people who attend [Mr Rafty's] meetings would be considered conspiracy theorists to a certain extent,” he said.

“They run a series of discussion groups on political and geopolitical themes. It’s invitation-only. It’s not a thing where they advertise publicly. They don’t do any interface with the community in any way.”

An anonymous letterbox drop of the area calling on residents to “do something about” Australia’s high level of immigration coincided with last week’s protest.

Terrie-Anne Verney : Take the Money And Run

I feel sorry for Darrin Hodges sometimes.

Well, not really. But still.

In July, a racist dingbat named Terrie-Anne Verney was sacked from her job as a sales rep for Griffith FM community radio station 2MIA. Terrie-Anne’s dismissal followed hot on the heels of her exposure as a racist (Multicultural radio presenter linked to anti-immigration Facebook groups, Asher Moses, The Age, July 2, 2009). In solidarity, Darrin — the face of the ‘Australian Protectionist Party’ (APP) — organised to raise a sum of money to donate to Terrie-Anne. Over a two-week period, over $400 was raised (or at least that’s what Darrin wrote on the Facebook page for the group ‘Fuck Off, We’re Full’) which sum Darrin dutifully transferred to Terrie-Anne.

A grateful Terrie-Anne tearfully wrote the following in appreciation (July 20, 2009 at 11:26pm):

The amount of support I have recieded [sic] in the last 2 weeks has amazed me.

The money that was raised on my behalf by Darrin Hodges has been appreciated and I thank everyone who parted with some of their hard earned cash to help a fellow Australian. I have been amazed by the generousity [sic] of my fellow Australians. The strength, support, kindess [sic] and friendship extended to me over the past fortnight has been overwhelming.

I thank each and every one of you have [sic] offered me your support and thrown whatever you could afford into the account, and thankyou [sic] to Darrin for putting it all together and offering me whatever assistance he could.

It is good to know that in times of need, that we can still rally around and offer suport [sic], strength and help to some body [sic] who needs it.

Perhaps the Aussie Spirit is alive and well after all.

Sadly for Darrin, a week later it was announced that ‘Terrible’ Terrie-Anne would be addressing the 2009 Sydney Forum (September 26–27), an annual event organised by Darrin’s arch-rival Dr James Saleam:

Terrie-Anne Verney

Being persecuted and fired from your workplace due to the personal political opinions you hold only happens in totalitarian regimes overseas, it would never happen in Australia in 2009… or would it? Hear a strong and brave young woman talk about how this happened to her in liberal democratic Australia because of her views on multi-culturalism and immigration.

A strong and brave young woman whose presence at the Forum was aided by one of its principal (’white nationalist’) critics! (On the ding-dong battle between ‘Australia First’ (Saleam) and the ‘Australian Protectionist’ (Hodges) parties, see : Dreaming of An Aryan Jeannie : Australia First, Australian Protectionist Parties, July 10, 2009.)

NB. Also addressing the forum will be Andrew ‘I heart blonde hair and blue eyes’ Fraser; Dr. James ‘The Mad Arab’ Saleam; John ‘911 Was An Inside Job!’ Bursill; David ‘I wish we had more like you, Pauline’ Astin; and a mystery guest from the United States (whoever could it be?). (On Astin, see also : Free speech at Crikey?, March 3, 2005.)

Terrie-Anne, Andrew, James, John and David will be joined by Welf ‘Holocaust? What Holocaust?’ Herfurth, Nicole ‘For Blood & Honour’ Hanley, a few dozen middle-aged racists in cardigans, a scattering of ‘national anarchists’, and various other paranoid wackos.

The paranoid wackos of this seedy West London tenement had one thing in common — the conviction that Jews, Freemasons, homosexuals, Gypsies, Jesuits, anarchists and Communist Party members were all agents of subversion under the control of a ruthless global elite directing world events to their advantage…

Protect Australia First. Parties.

Hitler visits a lunatic asylum. The patients give the Hitler salute. As he passes down the line he comes across a man who isn’t saluting.
“Why aren’t you saluting like the others?” Hitler barks.
“Mein Führer, I’m the nurse,” comes the answer. “I’m not crazy!”

In the struggle to Protect Australia and to put it First, I’m growing increasingly worried.

First, s h o c k news that, as a result of his recent massive upswing in popularity, ribald political commentary and overall fitness, John Drew (aka ‘Australia First Brisbane’ / ‘Patriotic Youth League’) has been cruelly jettisoned by the Party. Or to put it another way:

Due to ever increasing interest in myself rather than Australia First’s Brisbane Branch I have bought the domain name johndrew.net and am preparing a web site that will provide a wide array of information including a very interesting photo gallery. Estimated date of going online with this personal web site is early to mid April…

I advise that this web site will cease to be that of the Brisbane branch as of March 30 due to party member objections to some items of content and subsequent censorship by party officials. Another emerging party branch will utilise the domain name. I will be concentrating on my other interests one of which is the development of a fitness training/social group for gays. I will also be active in Brisbane Sun Boys.

As keen, sun-bronzed young men across Australia know, ‘Brisbane Sun Boys’ is a “Nudist Club for Gay and Bisexual Men, over the age of 18, in Southeast Queensland who enjoy this natural life style”.

A number of questions present themselves at this point.

For example:

In this sordid drama, is Dr James Saleam (Australia First NSW) — or perhaps even Jim Perren (Australia First Queensland) — playing the role of ‘Denise LaSalle’? And is John Drew acting out the part of ‘Long Dong Silver’?

Further:

Will the runaway success enjoyed by the Patriotic Youth League — which has attracted such prominent personalities as Stuart McBeth, Luke Connors, James Newman, Lachlan Black and John Drew — be endangered by John’s leaving?

McBeth founded the PYL in Newcastle in 2002; he left in early 2005. Black was one of the founding members of the New South Wales branch of One Nation in 1997. He is now a member of the APP in the ACT.

Will Peter Watson, the Patriotic Youth from Warwick, now step forward and transform his powerful party machine the Stalinist League into a Nationalist Association 4 Yoof?

If Peter does join, will he get brain cancer from having the mobile phone pressed to his ear all day and all night, answering membership and media inquiries?

Only time will tell.

Elsewhere in Queensland, two AF supporters have bravely gone to the polls: Peregrine John Beverley Jewell and Peter Schuback. Neither gained an especially impressive number of votes, naturally, but their participation is (presumably) yet another giant stride forward for Australia.

Or is it?

On the other side of the White nationalist divide, the Australian Protectionist Party is… still protecting Australia. Like AF, the APP struggles with the political legacy of Dr James Saleam, who has recently denounced — again — the APP for its alleged support for Zionism. That is, The Jew.

The leading spokesperson for the APP is Darrin Hodges. Darrin is one of a number of former AF members, including Mark Wilson, to abandon Herr Doktor.

“i have some good colour footage (no sound) of Adolf Hitler at The Berghoff. PM me if you want a copy of the footage” Darrin once wrote on Stormfront, but since then he has displaced his fear and loathing of The Jew on to The Muslim, who, together with The Asian, The Black, The Greens, The Red and The Queer, now constitute the gravest threats to Australia.

Word on The Street is that The Jew, The Muslim, The Red and The Asian are led by

A Half-Human, Half-Lesbian, Half-Machine, Half-Asian, Half-Cyborg Future President of the Future United States of Asia!

Below is e x c l u s i v e footage of the Future President of the Future United States of Asia after being informed of the growing resistance to the politics of New World Order liberal-globalist-capitalism throughout Australia (and in the rest of the world) and shortly before boarding her EL AL Airlines flight bound for Toowoomba:

Griffin postpones Australian tour

Matthew Collins
Searchlight
January 2009

As 2008 drew to a close the news arrived that Nick Griffin, the BNP leader, had postponed his Christmas speaking tour of Australia.

Since the BNP first announced Griffin’s plans to visit the country last year, Searchlight has received a steady flow of enquiries not only from the Australian media, but from hundreds of Australian activists and trade unionists seeking Searchlight’s help with campaigning to stop Griffin’s visit.

In Britain, thousands of trade unionists and antifascist campaigners took advantage of Searchlight’s postcard campaign, inundating the Australian High Commission in London with our “He’s Not Fair Dinkum” postcards, while in Australia seasoned antiracist and antifascist campaigners from the Jewish community and the Fight dem back organisation joined with other faith groups and concerned organisations to pressure Chris Evans, the Australian Minister for Immigration, to deny Griffin an entry visa.

One of the organisations with which Searchlight is working closely is the Catalyst group, a democratic campaign organisation that works with the Australian trade union movement. Catalyst’s spokesperson, Jo-anne Schofield, told Searchlight that she had never heard of Griffin or the BNP, but within days of working alongside others fighting to stop Griffin’s visit, she felt it was “one of the most valuable and important campaigns” she and Catalyst had ever undertaken.

Catalyst organised for several hundred emails to be sent to Evans through its website, while Fight dem back delivered intelligence to media organisations on the true nature of some of the people Griffin wanted to visit as well as undertaking a poster campaign on Australian university campuses.

Last September, Searchlight met with representatives of the Australian Labor Party, including its General Secretary, to press for Griffin’s visa application to be refused.

In November, the Australian Minister for Immigration issued a press release stating that Griffin would have to satisfy the Character Test, a test that Searchlight suggested would be “worthless” if Griffin did manage to pass it.

In December, the BNP announced the visit had been “put off”, news that made many people relieved and satisfied. Across the board, political and religious organisations are still campaigning on behalf of all decent Australians who want to keep the messenger of hate from their shores.

Searchlight would like to send our thanks and congratulations to the many, many people who have helped with the campaign but also to remind them that it is not yet finished. Although Griffin’s electronic visa application has been refused, he has been asked to submit a full written application if he still wants to visit the country.

We will keep working throughout the New Year and for as long as it takes, to keep Australia a Griffin-free zone in 2009.

Crazy kids and their intarwebs.

The Southern Cross Soldiers (SCS) finally make it into the papers.

(See below.)

They’re just like real soldiers (only not quite as well paid).

“Friends, today was an historic day, the day Australians stood up against state-imposed multiculturalism,” Darrin Hodges wrote on the night of the Cronulla riots. Accompanying his posting is a series of photographs he took at Cronulla that day, including one of a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “wog free zone” and another of a sign offering free sausages to the crowd, with “no tabouli”. Darrin also speaks of footage he filmed on the day which [FightDemBack!] believes was used in a video released over the weekend that glorifies a mob of rioters bashing various non-whites at Cronulla.

In his article (Victorian police vow crackdown to stop ‘another Cronulla’) Liam makes reference to a Cronulla vid (Videos on [SCS] websites glorify the Cronulla riots to a neo-Nazi soundtrack promising “race war”), which is presumably a reference to the vid Australian Protectionist Party (APP) members Darrin Hodges and Martin Fletcher helped to produce and distribute on Stormfront in the riot’s immediate aftermath. Hodges & Co. maintain that the ‘riot’ was in fact a ‘White Civil Uprising’, an opening shot fired in a civil war in which their side seeks to return Australia to its natural status as a 100% White outpost in Asia. While Hodges & Co. are based in Sydney, at the same time, in Melbourne, another APP member, Luke Connors, in his then capacity as spokesperson for the now-defunct ‘Patriotik Yoof League’:

…predicted further outbreaks.

“‘When you have areas which are majority Muslim, because they don’t tend to adapt that well, or majority African or Middle Eastern extraction, and right next door you have an area which is 90 per cent Anglo-Saxon, or Anglo-Celtic, there is going to be friction,” he said.

“West Heidelberg is a big one because you have a very large black working-class community next to a white middle-working-class community. That would be my best guess actually if it was going to start up in Melbourne.

“Also, out past Springvale, along the train line, there is that same sort of segregation going on, in working-class areas where they are competing for the same jobs and there is a high unemployment rate.”

Pressure mounts to block white supremacist visa

From The Age:

PM urged to bar UK supremacist
Paul Austin
November 22, 2008

STATE Liberal leader Ted Baillieu is urging Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to block British white supremacist Nick Griffin from entering Australia.

Mr Griffin, head of the far-right British National Party, has applied for a visa to visit Australia next month to talk in Melbourne and Sydney on what he calls “the demographic genocide” caused by immigration from the Third World to developed countries.

Mr Baillieu has written to Mr Rudd and Immigration Minister Chris Evans warning that a tour by Mr Griffin would pose a threat to Victoria’s tradition of tolerance and diversity.

In the letter, Mr Baillieu says that Mr Griffin was convicted in 1998 of distributing material likely to incite racial hatred, and advocates “white supremacy”.

News brief · 22 November 2008

Nick Griffin: In his own words

So… what sort of nice things could we expect to hear from Nick Griffin on his Australian tour? Here’s some stuff he’s had to say in the past:

On race: “Without the White race nothing matters [other right-wing parties] believe that the answer to the race question is integration and a futile attempt to create “Black Britons”, while we affirm that non-Whites have no place here at all and will not rest until every last one has left our land.”

On Nazi leader Adolf Hitler: “Yes, Adolf went a bit too far. His legacy is the biggest problem that the British nationalist movement has to deal with. It just creates a bad image.”

On Mein Kampf, Adolf Hitler’s autobiography: “At 13, I read Mein Kampf, making notes in the margins… I remember thinking, are the Jews really that bad? The chapter I most enjoyed was the one on propaganda and organisation there are some really useful ideas there.”

On democracy: “[BNP voters backed] what they perceived to be a strong, disciplined organisation with the ability to back up its slogan ‘Defend Rights for Whites’ with well-directed boots and fists. When the crunch comes, power is the product of force and will, not of rational debate.”

Neo-Nazis demand visa equality for Holocaust denier

From the West Australian:

Party leader’s sponsors demand visa equality
NICK BUTTERLY and ANDREW PROBYN

Supporters of far-Right British political leader Nick Griffin are demanding to know why he could be barred from entering Australia when US gangster rap stars with criminal convictions have been given visas to perform here.

As revealed in The West Australian yesterday, Mr Griffin, the leader of the British National Party, has been red-flagged by the Immigration Department and is not likely to be granted a visa to come to Australia on a planned speaking tour next month.

Islamic and Jewish groups are urging Immigration Minister Chris Evans to deny Mr Griffin a visa, saying that his presence in Australia could incite prejudice and violence against ethnic groups.
