White Nationalism Goes To The Polls

The 2010 Australian federal election is just a few days away, and while most eyes are on Labor, the Coalition and the Greens, there’s a range of other parties hoping to use the occasion to promote their agenda. Among these parties are a small number on the racist right-wing: the Australia First, Australian Protectionist and One Nation parties.

Below is a brief summary of their candidacy.

Australia First

Founded by former Labor MP Graeme Campbell in 1996, the Australia First Party has undergone a number of ups and downs in its short life, its initial Sturm und Drang stolen from it by a red-haired fish ‘n’ shop owner from Queensland. In 2001 it underwent something of a revival when veteran fascist Dr James Saleam joined the NSW branch, became its Secretary, and began reconstructing the party on a more systematically right-wing basis. The party split in mid-2007, with Saleam becoming its undisputed leader. In 2009, Saleam was the subject of an extensive profile in the Good Weekend (‘The Audacity of Hate’, September 26/27, 2009), one which — notwithstanding Saleam’s numerous objections to its alleged inaccuracies — provides a rather damning portrayal.

While it has participated in numerous elections before — its only success being the election of Bruce Preece to local council in Adelaide — 2010 is only the second that AF has contested since re-registering with the Australian Electoral Commission, and the party is standing just a handful of candidates in NSW, QLD and VIC. In NSW, its candidates are Tony Pettitt in Greenway and Mick Saunders in Lindsay. In QLD Peter Schuback and Nick Maine are running for the Senate, while in Victoria Alex Norwick is standing for the seat of Deakin.

None are expected to gain more than a handful of votes.

Australian Protectionist

Formed as a split from AF in 2007, the APP is currently unregistered, and is standing just two candidates in NSW for the Senate: party leaders Darrin Hodges and Nick Folkes. Hodges unsuccessfully stood for local council in 2008, while this appears to be Folkes first electoral contest. Hodges is a former member of AF, while both men are reputed to be former Liberals. The pair took part in a small rally in Newtown last weekend, but received a hostile response from locals. The APP’s principal concern is getting rid of Muslims, but it otherwise expresses a routine form of white nationalism, albeit one which veers between an assimilationist and rejectionist model.

One Nation

The One Nation party — best known for its earlier association with The Wicked Witch from Ipswich, Pauline Hanson — is a shadow of its former self, having undergone a sudden rise in the late 1990s, and an equally sharp decline in the early 2000s. The party lost its last MP, Rosa Lee Long, in the 2009 Queensland state election. While the party may be down it’s not gone, however, and is fielding candidates in NSW, NT, QLD, SA, VIC and WA.

In NSW, ON is putting up patriots in a total of fourteen (14) Lower House seats: Banks, Bennelong, Blaxland, Chifley, Cook, Hughes, Hunter, Kingsford Smith, Macarthur, New England, Paterson, Riverina, Robertson and Shortland. In NT it’s standing someone for the seat of Solomon. In SA, ON is contesting Makon and Sturt, in QLD Bowman, Fadden and Wide Bay, and has thrown up just the one candidate in Moore, WA. The party is also taking part in Senate contests in each of the mainland states.

Of the few dozen aspiring ON politicians, a handful are noteworthy. One is Kate McCulloch, the ON candidate in Macarthur. Briefly coming into the media spotlight during the course of a campaign against the construction of an Islamic school in Camden, it remains to be seen if she really is the Great White (Red Haired) Hope. More recently, the President of ON in Victoria, John Groves, has informed the world of his love of ‘Phoofter Bashing’ and his passionate hatred of Jews, the former comment prompted by Family First QLD Senate hopeful Wendy Francis comparing gay parenting to child abuse.

Another ON candidate (Riverina) who has gained some small degree of notoriety is Craig Hesketh, the party’s NSW publicity officer. Hesketh has received the official endorsement of AF, as he is a ‘nationalist’ and because he “has rightly spoken out against the refugee invasion of our country”. Quite strongly, too. On Facebook, Hesketh denounced “race traitors” and “immigrant whores”:

While he describes the Greens as “sick f*cks”:

On the other hand, as Hesketh noted in response to homophobic sentiment allegedly expressed by Nationals candidate Michael McCormack, “I think we’ve all said something [we've] regretted at some stage”.

Man jailed over racist attack on Indian student

A gang of racist youths nearly killed a man during an armed rampage in an Indian grocery store in Melbourne’s west for the “sheer thrill” of the attack, a judge said today.

Drunk and carrying wooden planks ripped up from a nearby bus stop seat, the seven youths raided the Impex shop in Sunshine yelling “are you Indian?” as they randomly struck their victims on December 1 last year, the County Court heard today.

Indian student Sukhraj Singh, 28, was in a coma for 15 days and will suffer the effects of a severe acquired brain injury for the rest of his life after being beaten during the assault.

Eight men were punched and hit with the weapons and most suffered minor injuries but Mr Singh was beaten unconscious and spent months in hospital and rehabilitation after being struck three times to the head and body.

In sentencing one of the attackers, Zakarie Hussein, 21, of Braybrook, Judge Pamela Jenkins said today the group had deliberately targeted victims of Indian ethnicity in the “unprovoked rampage”.

The youths had been drinking beer in a park for about four hours before they went to the store in City Place just after 6.30pm where two of the teens began a racist argument with two customers, the court heard.

About five minutes later, the pair returned with their friends, most armed with wooden bars and one with a fluorescent light tube, and began smashing up the store and indiscriminately striking customers and staff as they yelled “are you Indian?” and “bloody Indians, f— off”.

The shop’s cash register was stolen and the loot divided up among the offenders. Hussein received about $15.

In a victim impact statement tendered to the court, Mr Singh said metal plates had been inserted into his face, he had shed up to 15 kilograms and been left with lumps and scars on his head from the assault.

“I am lucky to be alive, all my friends and family thought I was going to die,” Mr Singh said in the statement.

He said he suffered from dizzy spells and had undergone counselling after being plagued by nightmares and flashbacks.

The court heard his injuries had been potentially life-threatening and meant he had been unable to work for five months, may not be able to complete his studies and was too frightened to live alone.

Hussein had pleaded guilty to armed robbery, recklessly causing serious injury, and six counts of recklessly causing injury.

Judge Jenkins said Hussein had not used his wooden weapon but had planned to before being knocked out of the way by a co-offender.

She said the victims had tried to cower from their attackers and had done nothing to provoke the attack.

“Your victims presented no threat to you or your co-offenders whatsoever. They did not provoke you, they did not fight back and indeed they made every effort to escape from the assaults,” she said.

“Notwithstanding these circumstances the victims were beaten apparently for the sheer thrill, Mr Singh being subjected to a particularly savage beating with the terrible consequences for him.”

Judge Jenkins said the assault was among a number of racist attacks that had rightly provoked international and local community outrage and should be condemned.

“Short of becoming prisoners in their own homes, there is little potential victims can do to prevent such attacks,” she said.

Judge Jenkins sentenced Hussein to four-and-a-half years’ jail with a minimum non-parole period of two years.

Hussein, dressed in a black suit and white shirt and supported in court by family, bit his nails throughout the hearing and stood with his hands clasped while he was sentenced to serve his time in an adult prison.

The court heard he had migrated to Australia from Somalia, aged about six, with his older brother and mother, who were both later diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

His younger sister had died from malaria shortly before the family left Africa where they spent time in a refugee camp in Kenya.

The court heard Hussein had experienced a difficult childhood and by his final year of school was drinking and taking drugs daily.

His defence had argued Hussein played only a minor role in the attack, had been drunk after consuming about 10 beers, and was remorseful.

But Judge Jenkins said despite Hussein not having hit any of the victims he had entered the store armed with the intention of hurting someone and had yelled encouragement to his friends.

She said it was “particularly shameful” that the Somali immigrant had vented his rage on international students and other young immigrants.

“There is no question that the offending constituted an extremely violent and indiscriminate rampage by armed youths exhibiting the worst traits of a pack mentality,” Judge Jenkins told Hussein.

Hussein had prior convictions including, for robbery, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Four of Hussein’s co-offenders, aged between 14 and 17 at the time of the attack, had already received 12-month sentences in a youth detention centre and a fifth teen received a 12-month youth supervision order.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Rapke has appealed against the sentences, arguing they are “manifestly inadequate”.

The Court of Appeal is yet to hand down its judgment. A sixth offender, who has pleaded guilty in the Children’s Court, will be sentenced following the result of the appeal.

NATIONAL, September 10, 2009: An Alice Springs resident has responded to the alleged bashing death of an Aboriginal man by five young white men by selling “Alice Springs White Power” t-shirts and caps from his car.

And it’s all happening outside the Alice Springs Town Council offices, with local police and council officials refusing at least two requests by local residents to shut the man down.

The t-shirts and caps were yesterday on display in the passenger side window of a 4WD ute parked directly across the road from the council chambers. The number plates on the vehicle read ‘GANGSTA’, and a hand-written sign was taped to the back passenger window advertising the shirts and caps.

The sign included pricing - $25 for a shirt, $25 for a cap or to [sic] for $35. The shirt includes a Nazi swastika symbol, and the sign includes a mobile number, 0410 366 701.

The sale of the merchandise follows the July 25 death of Donny Ryder, an Aboriginal trainee ranger, aged 33. Mr Ryder was walking home along an Alice Springs back street when a group of five white youths aged 19-24 allegedly alighted from a 4WD and bashed him to death.

The youths have each been charged with murder, and up to nine counts of reckless endangerment - about a half hour before the bashing death the youths also allegedly drove their vehicle at itinerant Aboriginal men and women camping on the dry bed of the Todd River.

Two residents who contacted the National Indigenous Times last night said the man had been seen making several sales of the t-shirts outside the council chambers. After complaining to council officers they were told no by-laws were being broken because the sign advertising the vehicle was situated inside - not outside - the vehicle.

One of the residents who complained (and requested anonymity) said: “The fact he was sitting out the front of the council building, probably within view of many security and CCTV cameras… I think it’s pretty brazen.

“By doing it in front of council he’s trying to assert some sort of power. He’s trying to say that he has immunity to spread hate around town.”

The residents told NIT that they also complained to local police but officers declined to take any action. Calls to the Northern Territory government also fell on deaf ears.

A spokesperson for NT Police this morning confirmed officers had received one complaint, but further comment was unavailable at the time of press. Alice Springs Police are, however, investigating the matter and trying to determine what laws, if any, Red may have broken, a spokesperson said.

We didn’t, however, have much trouble getting comment from the seller of the t-shirts.
Last night, NIT phoned the number in the ad. The owner of the vehicle is a local man in his late 40s. He identified himself only by his nickname, ‘Red’.

In a lengthy interview, Red unleashed a torrent of racial abuse, after initially claiming that the t-shirts and caps weren’t for sale.

“I’m not selling the t-shirts, I’m giving them to people who want them,” Red said. But when told NIT had photographs of the advertising signs in Red’s car, he replied, “You’re just some white c-nt who’s a f-cking n-gger lover.”

Red claimed the shirts were popular among local residents - even police had shelled out the $25.

“I’ve sold them to police…. I’ve sold them to nurses, school teachers…. No c-nt has ever come up to me and said nothing about it. I wear my shirts and hats everywhere I go,” he said.

He declined to say how many local police had bought his merchandise.

“What do you think, I’m f-cking stupid? I’m not telling you that. It’s just a number.”

He also claimed that the merchandise was not a response to the death of Mr Ryder and that he had been distributing them for a year.

“It’s got nothing to do with that sh-t. It’s just my way to sticking it up the black c-nts. It’s not illegal, I’ve sold to cops,” he said.

However, one local resident contacted by the National Indigenous Times said the vehicle was well known around Alice Springs, and the sign advertising the shirts had only appeared since the death of Mr Ryder.

Red did concede, however, that the bashing death of Mr Ryder was “going too far”.

“I don’t condone what they done to him at all. No c-nts should get killed, black or white. That’s going too far. [But] if they’d just actually touched him up….”

Red said the Alice Springs community was angry at the death of a white man allegedly bashed to death by several Aboriginal men earlier this year. He said he had grown up in the central Australian town and that Aboriginal people were the source of all the problems.

“[Aboriginal people] couldn’t even invent the f-cking wheel,” he said. “I’ve had enough sh-t from c-ons and n-gger lovers and c-nts coming into town who are not local.

“Go see the f-cking c-on camps, the c-on creeks. There’s a f-cking bottle shop across the road from the b-ong camp.

Another major problem was that the black people in town weren’t even ‘real c-ons’.

“A lot of the c-nts in town are mongrels. Their mum f-cked a g-n way back. Some dumb white g-n jockey c-nt rooting a n-gger… it comes out a half caste. It’s a f-cking mongrel,” he said.

He pointed to the fact jails in the Territory were full of black criminals as proof that Aboriginal people were the cause of Alice Springs’ problems.

“… 80 percent inside were f-cking n-ggers for doing shit,” he said, later conceding that he knew because he’d “done time… for flogging the f-ck out of some c-ons”.

Red said that “n-gger lover d-ckhead lawyers and reporters” only made the problem worse because they defended Aboriginal people.

Asked if he had any solutions for Alice Springs’ problems, Red was initially silent. He replied: “Take all the c-on camps out of town, put ‘em back out in the bush. They’re bludging f-cking leeches. We’ve gotta build more fences… get better security.”

A spokesperson for Alice Springs Town Council this morning told NIT that the council was unable to act because there had had been no indication “paraphernalia” was being sold. Instead, council was advised that a singlet with offensive material was visible from the outside of the vehicle.

At the time of press, the council was unable to explain why local residents had yesterday been given detailed information from council officers about by-laws relating to advertising being displayed on the inside of the vehicle.

Neo-nazi graffiti not ours: Saleam

GRAFFITI daubed on the home of the NSW Treasurer, Eric Roozendaal, is believed to have been done by a group that has links to neo-Nazis.

An unknown group painted ”88” on his eastern suburbs home, on the footpath and on the house of a neighbour at the weekend. Among far right-wing groups, the number 88 is taken to represent HH, shorthand for Heil Hitler.

Police are investigating.

Mr Roozendaal refused to speak to the Herald about the incident, but a spokesman for him said he ”will not be intimidated and will continue to speak out against groups preaching hatred and division”.

Mr Roozendaal has had a longstanding dispute with the extreme right-wing group Australia First, stemming from his days at Macquarie University, where he had the group banned from campus.

Mr Roozendaal, a former state secretary of the ALP, negotiated in July with the Labor Party’s national secretary to guarantee no Labor electoral preferences would go to Australia First.

At the time, Mr Roozendaal said One Nation gained a foothold in Queensland due to one factor: Coalition preferences.

Mr Roozendaal’s spokesman said it was notable that the attack took place a month after the Treasurer’s public comments about blocking any preference flow from the Labor Party to Australia First.

Jim Saleam, of Australia First, denied the incident had anything to do with his group.

”It has been done by provocateurs; if it has not been done by criminal groups,” Mr Saleam said.

Terrie-Anne Verney : Take the Money And Run

I feel sorry for Darrin Hodges sometimes.

Well, not really. But still.

In July, a racist dingbat named Terrie-Anne Verney was sacked from her job as a sales rep for Griffith FM community radio station 2MIA. Terrie-Anne’s dismissal followed hot on the heels of her exposure as a racist (Multicultural radio presenter linked to anti-immigration Facebook groups, Asher Moses, The Age, July 2, 2009). In solidarity, Darrin — the face of the ‘Australian Protectionist Party’ (APP) — organised to raise a sum of money to donate to Terrie-Anne. Over a two-week period, over $400 was raised (or at least that’s what Darrin wrote on the Facebook page for the group ‘Fuck Off, We’re Full’) which sum Darrin dutifully transferred to Terrie-Anne.

A grateful Terrie-Anne tearfully wrote the following in appreciation (July 20, 2009 at 11:26pm):

The amount of support I have recieded [sic] in the last 2 weeks has amazed me.

The money that was raised on my behalf by Darrin Hodges has been appreciated and I thank everyone who parted with some of their hard earned cash to help a fellow Australian. I have been amazed by the generousity [sic] of my fellow Australians. The strength, support, kindess [sic] and friendship extended to me over the past fortnight has been overwhelming.

I thank each and every one of you have [sic] offered me your support and thrown whatever you could afford into the account, and thankyou [sic] to Darrin for putting it all together and offering me whatever assistance he could.

It is good to know that in times of need, that we can still rally around and offer suport [sic], strength and help to some body [sic] who needs it.

Perhaps the Aussie Spirit is alive and well after all.

Sadly for Darrin, a week later it was announced that ‘Terrible’ Terrie-Anne would be addressing the 2009 Sydney Forum (September 26–27), an annual event organised by Darrin’s arch-rival Dr James Saleam:

There is no such thing as a ‘moderate’ anti-immigrant group

Like the last “moderate” anti-immigrant group the Republican Party championed, Youth for Western Culture, the leadership of the “Minutemen” have been arrested for serious violent crimes against minorities. This time, it’s multiple murder. This is what “respectable” racism looks like.

Home invasion suspects tied to border group

Two of three people arrested in a southern Arizona home invasion that left a little girl and her father dead had connections to a Washington state anti-illegal immigration group that conducts border watch activities in Arizona.

Jason Eugene Bush, 34, Shawna Forde, 41, and Albert Robert Gaxiola, 42, have been charged with two counts each of first-degree murder and other charges, said Sheriff Clarence Dupnik of Pima County, Ariz.

The trio are alleged to have dressed as law enforcement officers and forced their way into a home about 10 miles north of the Mexican border in rural Arivaca on May 30, wounding a woman and fatally shooting her husband and their 9-year-old daughter.

Their motive was financial, Dupnik said.

“The husband who was murdered has a history of being involved in narcotics and there was an anticipation that there would be a considerable amount of cash at this location as well as the possibility of drugs,” Dupnik said.

Forde is the leader of Minutemen American Defense, a small border watch group, and Bush goes by the nickname “Gunny” and is its operations director, according to the group’s Web site.

She is from Everett, Wash., has recently been living in Arizona and was once associated with the better known and larger Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.

A statement attributed to officers of Forde’s group and posted on its Web site on Saturday extended condolences to the victims’ families and said the group doesn’t condone such acts and will cooperate with law enforcement.

“This is not what Minutemen do,” said member Chuck Stonex, who responded to an e-mail from The Associated Press sent through the Web site. “Minutemen observe, document and report. This is nothing more than a cold-hearted criminal act, and that is all we want to say.”

The assailants planned to leave no one alive, Dupnik said at a press conference in Tucson on Friday. He said Forde was the ringleader.

“This was a planned home invasion where the plan was to kill all the people inside this trailer so there would be no witnesses,” Dupnik said. “To just kill a 9-year-old girl because she might be a potential witness to me is just one of the most despicable acts that I have heard of.”

Dupnik said Forde continued working through Friday to raise a large amount of money to make her anti-illegal immigrant operation more sophisticated.

Forde denied involvement as she was led from sheriff’s headquarters.

“No, I did not do it,” she said. “I had nothing to do with it.”

Gaxiola also denied involvement; Bush was arrested at a Kingman, Ariz., hospital where he was being treated for a leg wound he allegedly received when the woman who survived the attack managed to get a gun and fire back.

Killed were 9-year-old Brisenia Flores and her 29-year-old father, Raul Junior Flores. The name of the wounded woman who survived the attack hasn’t been released.

Forde is well known in the anti-illegal immigration community, said Brian Levin, director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University-San Bernardino.

“She’s someone who even within the anti-immigration movement has been labeled as unstable,” Levin said. “She was basically forced out of another anti-immigrant group, the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, and then founded her own organization.”

Stonex, of Alamagordo, N.M., said he met Forde while on an Arizona border watch operation last fall, and liked her despite her reputation in the Minutemen community.

“I know she’s always had sort of a checkered past but I take people for what I see and not what I hear,” the 57-year-old said.

She recruited him to start a new chapter in New Mexico, but was secretive about her group or its members.

Stonex said he didn’t know how to recruit for a chapter and never did.

He said Forde called him on the day of the attack while he was visiting Arizona and asked him to bring bandages to an Arivaca home because Bush had been wounded.

Stonex said it appeared Bush had a relatively minor gunshot wound, which he treated.

He said Forde and Bush told him Bush been wounded by a smuggler who shot at him while the group were patrolling the desert.

Stonex said he didn’t suspect that might not be the case until was contacted by a deputy on Saturday about their alleged involvement in the crime.

Arizona, by the way does very bad things to people convicted on multiple murder raps.

Rule #1 : NO POOFTAS! (Australia First Expels Hanson / Green Party Supporter: AtTeMpT tO dIsRuPt AuStRaLiA fIrSt StYmIeD)

Dr James Saleam, Führer of the Australia First Party (NSW), may be a pompous fascist dingbat, but — it must be admitted — he has mad skillz.

In December 2008, Saleam wrote that the police shooting of Melbourne teenager Tyler Cassidy was the product of a political conspiracy aimed at the ‘nationalist’ movement. ‘Corrupt Political Police ‘Intelligence’ Killed Tyler Cassidy!’ he exclaimed, announcing that “Australia First Party will demonstrate at the Coroner’s Court when an investigation is held into Tyler’s Cassidy’s death”.

More recently (February/March 2009), AF endorsed two candidates in the Queensland state election: Peregrine John Beverley Jewell in Toowoomba North and Peter Schuback in Hervey Bay.

Peregrine is a fascist stalwart, having established the ‘Confederate Action Party’ (a precursor to One Nation) in the early ’90s, as well as having involved himself in various other crackpot schemes. For his part, as well as being vice-president of the ‘Australian Long Distance Owners and Drivers Association’ and owner of ‘Mineral and Mine Movers Transport’, Peter is a perennial election candidate, having stood in 1998, 2001 (twice) and 2006. On these, as on the most recent occasion, Peter lost (as did Peregrine).

February also witnessed the departure of the ‘Australian Nationalism Information Database’ from the AF stable. Re-badged as ‘Ironbark Resources’, the site is now closely-linked to AF’s arch-rivals in the Australian Protectionist Party (the APP having split from AF in 2007).

In the meantime, Dr Jim’s 15-year-long Struggle to Clear His Name (he was convicted in 1991 of organising a shotgun assault upon the home of African National Congress representative Eddie Funde) and 5-year-long Battle to Register the Party continues unabated. Australia First Expels Hanson / Green Party Supporter: Attempt To Disrupt Australia First Stymied

Australia First Party advises that it has today (March 25) expelled a Brisbane member, Mr. John Drew.

Mr. Drew, a former member of One Nation and of Australia First (when it was under other management in 2007) [Australia First Party makes like a banana…], was readmitted over members’ objections in 2007. He was nonetheless asked to carry out some secretarial and web site duties in Brisbane subject to positive performance.

In March 2009, Mr. Drew published upon the Queensland website material supportive both of the Pauline Hanson campaign and the Greens party campaign in the Queensland State election.

Mr. Drew objected to removing this material, although he finally did so. Australia First neither supports the opportunist pseudo populist Hanson, nor the open borders Greens party. Many party members protested about this material.

Simultaneously, Mr. Drew published material on an anti Australia First blogsite concerning earlier harassing allegations by our opponents that he supported the “Gay lifestyle” (sic). Despite numerous requests that he cease publishing these ambiguous statements about homosexuality and chiding this blogsite, he continued to write there. When asked whether he was homosexual, he vehemently denied it. Finally, he published a comment on March 17 concerning his attendance at a “Gay Parade” in Brisbane. This was clearly disingenuous and designed to instigate difficulties.

On March 18, Mr. Drew was suspended from membership. Today, he published upon the Brisbane Australia First website, the following comment.

“I advise that this web site will cease to be that of the Brisbane branch as of March 30 due to party member objections to some items of content and subsequent censorship by party officials. Another emerging party branch will utilise the domain name. I will be concentrating on my other interests one of which is the development of a fitness training/social group for gays. I will also active in Brisbane Sun Boys.”

We do not know whether the statements about gay interests are truthful, or whether they were designed to embarrass Australia First. We suspect only the latter.

Australia First has been under constant attack from various forces now for over three years. These attacks have included propaganda to divide the organisation. Persons have sought membership to disrupt the party. These attacks have intensified as we move towards registering the party and raising Australian nationalism up as a challenge to globalism.

This latest matter is just one more incident in a permanent struggle.

The last Queensland State committee meeting spoke of fishing out bad elements that might infiltrate Australia First. This we will continue to do. We serve the Australian people. Any element, whether it supports perverse lifestyles (sic), or whether it comes to push false agendas, will find no comfort here. On this occasion, we recognise only the agenda of another political party.

Protect Australia First. Parties.

In the struggle to Protect Australia and to put it First, I’m growing increasingly worried.

First, s h o c k news that, as a result of his recent massive upswing in popularity, ribald political commentary and overall fitness, John Drew (aka ‘Australia First Brisbane’ / ‘Patriotic Youth League’) has been cruelly jettisoned by the Party. Or to put it another way:

Due to ever increasing interest in myself rather than Australia First’s Brisbane Branch I have bought the domain name johndrew.net and am preparing a web site that will provide a wide array of information including a very interesting photo gallery. Estimated date of going online with this personal web site is early to mid April…

As keen, sun-bronzed young men across Australia know, ‘Brisbane Sun Boys’ is a “Nudist Club for Gay and Bisexual Men, over the age of 18, in Southeast Queensland who enjoy this natural life style”.

A number of questions present themselves at this point.

For example:

In this sordid drama, is Dr James Saleam (Australia First NSW) — or perhaps even Jim Perren (Australia First Queensland) — playing the role of ‘Denise LaSalle’? And is John Drew acting out the part of ‘Long Dong Silver’?

Further:

Will the runaway success enjoyed by the Patriotic Youth League — which has attracted such prominent personalities as Stuart McBeth, Luke Connors, James Newman, Lachlan Black and John Drew — be endangered by John’s leaving?

McBeth founded the PYL in Newcastle in 2002; he left in early 2005. Black was one of the founding members of the New South Wales branch of One Nation in 1997. He is now a member of the APP in the ACT.

Will Peter Watson, the Patriotic Youth from Warwick, now step forward and transform his powerful party machine the Stalinist League into a Nationalist Association 4 Yoof?

If Peter does join, will he get brain cancer from having the mobile phone pressed to his ear all day and all night, answering membership and media inquiries?

Only time will tell.

Elsewhere in Queensland, two AF supporters have bravely gone to the polls: Peregrine John Beverley Jewell and Peter Schuback. Neither gained an especially impressive number of votes, naturally, but their participation is (presumably) yet another giant stride forward for Australia.

Or is it?

On the other side of the White nationalist divide, the Australian Protectionist Party is… still protecting Australia. Like AF, the APP struggles with the political legacy of Dr James Saleam, who has recently denounced — again — the APP for its alleged support for Zionism. That is, The Jew.

The leading spokesperson for the APP is Darrin Hodges. Darrin is one of a number of former AF members, including Mark Wilson, to abandon Herr Doktor.

“i have some good colour footage (no sound) of Adolf Hitler at The Berghoff. PM me if you want a copy of the footage” Darrin once wrote on Stormfront, but since then he has displaced his fear and loathing of The Jew on to The Muslim, who, together with The Asian, The Black, The Greens, The Red and The Queer, now constitute the gravest threats to Australia.

Following the massively disappointing news that Warwick Capper forgot to nominate in the QLD State seat of Beaudesert, a new and exciting development in the QLD election: Australia First has a second candidate!

Joining Peregrine John Beverley Jewell in Toowoomba North is Peter Schuback in Hervey Bay. As well as being vice-president of the Australian Long Distance Owners and Drivers Association and owner of ‘Mineral and Mine Movers Transport’, according to AF Fuehrer Dr James Saleam, Schuback “was heavily commitment to the National Truck Shutdown last July”.

Peter is also heavily committed to a White Australia.

Incidentally, this is not Peter’s first tilt at a seat Parliament. In 2006, again contesting Hervey Bay, he gained 1,607 votes (5.82%), coming last of five candidates. In the 2001 Federal election, Peter stood as an Independent in the seat of Capricornia. For his troubles, he received 512 votes, or 0.7%. In 1998, Schuback had an earlier crack, scoring 1107 votes — outpolling the LaRouchite candidate (and thereby avoiding last place).

In 2001, Peter put forward his platform in the Rockhampton electorate as a candidate for the short-lived City Country Alliance. In a three-horse race, Peter again came last, winning a respectable 2,056 votes (8.9%). His wife, Di, also stood for election in 2001, in the seat of Fitzroy. Her campaign launch was a stroke of genius.

5,000 damaged condoms

Di Schuback is the candidate for the City Country Alliance (CCA), the party that’s campaigning on public decency and family values. Ian Townsend reports.

DI SCHUBACK: It says, ‘is this all the protection that we voters are going to receive from the two major parties?’ And I’ve stapled a condom on the front of it.

IAN TOWNSEND: Di Schuback’s the candidate for Fitzroy, a safe Labor seat. She’s running for the City Country Alliance, which is a One Nation offshoot. Mrs Schuback’s mailed the leaflets to 5,000 people in her electorate.

DI SCHUBACK: Yes, the condom’s damaged, and what it’s emphasising is what protection do we receive from a damaged product? And I basically feel that our major parties are damaged, they have no credibility…

Sadly, Di’s damaged condom stunt was only partly successful — just 1,879 voters were impressed enough by their receipt of a damaged condom to remember her name when they went to the polls.

In fact, the political climax for right-wing populism in QLD was 1998.

City Country Alliance, Rule #1: No Poofters!

The CCA was formed in December 1999 by six former ‘Pauline Hanson’s One Nation’ Queensland MPs: Bill Feldman, Ian Peterson, David Dalgleish, Peter Prenzler, Jack Paff and Harry Black. The CCA was registered on September 11, 2000 and deregistered on April 22, 2003.

The inaugural CCA conference was quite an occasion.

COMPERE: A One Nation offshoot, the City Country Alliance, held its first conference in Queensland at the weekend. The Party has six members in the State’s Parliament and claims a surge in support as voting scandals rock the Queensland Government.

Ian Townsend’s report begins with a former One Nation MP, Harry Black.

HARRY BLACK: I met my first poofter in Parliament House. And he said to me, he said, ‘You don’t know how one man can love another man.’ I said, ‘Jesus Christ.’ You know what I think that is, I think that is bloody disgusting. That’s what I think. [Applause] Blood[y] disgusting.

IAN TOWNSEND: Harry Black, the Member for Whitsunday addressing the first party conference of the City Country Alliance at Gympie north of Brisbane. Mr Black, once one of 11 One Nation MPs in Queensland Parliament, is now an Alliance member and homosexuality seems to be firmly on the agenda.

Parliamentary Leader, Bill Feldman, says the party is taking a moral stand.

BILL FELDMAN: We are tolerant and we respect other people’s point of view and we do not discriminate. And I think most Australians and most Queenslanders are very tolerant. Those, I spose, moral issues that they push at us such as homosexuality, abortion, euthanasia, if they keep pushing them at us, then we will react.

IAN TOWNSEND: The Party is made up of people disenchanted with One Nation. Mr Feldman claims One Nation voters haven’t vanished, they’re just switching to the CCA in droves. The City Country Alliance platform is family values, relaxed gun laws, community-based referenda, restricted immigration, tighter controls on foreign companies, the same policies as One Nation. The main difference is no Pauline Hanson.

Queensland is often considered a special case when it comes to elections. There’s one due within six months. Bill Feldman says up to 35 per cent of the electorate may now be undecided who to vote for. He’s hoping the CCA will pick up many of those votes and in the rest of Australia, Mr Feldman says his Party will test that at the next Federal election.

BILL FELDMAN: Well we’ve got branches establishing in other States - in NSW and Western Australia and we’ve got people actually talking to us now down in Victoria and South Australia. It all depends. And I take on board that, I think Queenslanders are rather parochial about their politics and indeed their politicians. And I think at the end of the day, if someone stands up for Queensland, I think Queenslanders vote for them.

We may be in our morality more conservative than the other States but so be it. I prefer to be in a State that, you know, accepts moral judgments.

Despite Feldman’s hopes, the CCA was wiped out at the 2001 election, losing every seat it contested.

Whether or not Peter Schuback agrees with Harry Black on the subject of bloody disgusting poofters is unknown. But while AF hates The Jew (who doesn’t?), it certainly cannot be accused of being homophobic. Well, not the leadership of AF in QLD at any rate. Thus on the one hand, there is in Toowoomba Jim Perren’s unabashed admiration for the dead fascist queer Joerg Haider. And on the other hand, there is John Drew in Brisbane. As John wrote on the Jew-hating Stormfront in 2007:

As long as men do [not] have anal sex I cannot see any problem with homosexuality. They have to pull their partners off in much the same way that women pull their male partners off. Women are often reluctant to have sex frequently whereas homosexuals are always ready for sex as they often produce lots of semen if they have a good diet and keep very fit.

Females are often quite aerobically unfit and so are unable to match the libido of sexually active men who can sustain an erection for a lengthy time.

Fancy having sex with a fat, unfit lady? Contrast this with being pulled off by a very fit and athletic male who keeps himself in absolutely wonderful physical condition…

The question is: can Peter Schuback pull it off for Australia First in Hervey Bay?

With the help of John Drew, Jim Perren and James Saleam, I’d like to think that anything is possible.

Denial: It’s not just a river in Egypt

Both NSW Police and Manly Council are trying hard to deny that the Australia Day mob scenes in Manly’s Corso had anything at all to do with (quelle horreur!) racism. Clearly, Manly merchants don’t want the ‘Cronulla ghost town’ effect and the police don’t want to be thought to be not to be doing their job.

But come on, now- Blind Freddy could see the racism on The Corso. Do we really need academics to unpick it? Well, OK then, here- have an academic’s estimation.

Manly Council and local police have their “heads in the sand” if they believe racism had nothing to do with angry scenes in the northern beaches suburb yesterday, an academic says.

Mayor Jean Hay and police commander Dave Darcy were today hosing down accusations that a group of about 80 drunk teenagers who ran chanting and yelling through the town centre wrapped in flags were targeting ethnic Australians.

But Manly resident Nina Burridge, who was at The Corso when the celebrations turned ugly and has studied ethno-cultural diversity in communities, said there was no question the youths’ taunts and cheers were racially motivated.

“It was a mix of hoodlums who had obviously been drinking as well but, to me, there was also an underlying element of racism dressed up as nationalism,” Dr Burridge, a senior lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney, said.

“When they were gathering on the [oceanside] beachfront, that’s when they were screaming out ‘If you’re Aussie and you know it clap your hands’ and ‘If you’re white and you know it clap your hands’.”

Dr Burridge said an 18-year-old woman was traumatised when three teenagers jumped on the car she was in and smashed two windows.

The youths went on to jump over other cars and damage shop awnings as they ran through the area chanting “Aussie Aussie Aussie, oi oi oi” and “Aussie pride”.

“When I was on the beach there was a bunch of them … and these are teenagers -15, 16-year-olds - with slogans on their backs and postcodes with Penrith and Londonderry,” she said.

Premier Nathan Rees today condemned the mob’s “absolutely reprehensible” behaviour.

“To use an Australian symbol or the Australian flag to promote racism is to fail to understand what those symbols mean. This kind of bigoted behaviour has no place in NSW,” Mr Rees said.

But Commander Darcy from Manly Local Area Command said the group, most of whom were not from the area, were no worse than a rowdy “old cricket crowd”.

“To suggest that there were racial overtones there is, I think, way over the top,” he said.

“I personally gave them a good looking over, just assessing them. There was an intensity there that no doubt would be confronting to some but at that stage they hadn’t crossed the threshold of criminality.”

Dr Burridge said northern beaches authorities needed to be proactive about preventing further ugly scenes and an incident similar to the Cronulla riots.

“If the Mayor of Manly Jean Hay and if the local police try and say there [was no racism involved] that’s actually putting their heads in the sand,” she said.

“They’re downplaying the presence of some really ugly elements in there.”

Cr Hay said it was unfortunate a small group of “morons” had to ruin the day for the estimated 10,000 people who celebrated in Manly.
