NF - Who are they calling ‘terrorists?’

Why are the National Front opposing bail for those arrested in the recent police raids against people who have been labeled “terrorists”? Perhaps the National Front should take a look at their own organisation and those that have made up its ranks past and present. There’s a lot for them to explain there.

Lets take a look, shall we?

Somali youth leader suing Victoria Police

From The Age:

Somali youth to sue police over ‘unprovoked’ attack
Liz Porter
October 21, 2007

A SOMALI-born youth leader at the centre of race allegations against Victoria Police has vowed to take civil action over what he says was an unprovoked police attack that left him with smashed teeth.

Ahmed Dini, 20, who required hospital treatment after being struck in the face with a heavy torch, announced plans to sue the officer involved last week, following a Melbourne magistrate’s ruling that a charge against Mr Dini of hindering police be dismissed.

The alleged police attack on Mr Dini on February 14 last year was one of 13 complaints alleging police brutality and harassment of African youths received by the Office of Police Integrity in the first few months of 2006.

Kyle Chapman prepares for “Moari terrorists”

In the wake of 17 people from Maori activist and environmental groups being arrested in NZ recently for some sort of “terrorist” conspiracy, former National Front leader Kyle Chapman has begun organising public “meetings about terror Issues” with right-wingers around New Zealand.

Kyle wants to discuss “Moari terrorism and how we as a movemnet would react to it” [sic], and “police crack downs and how we can protect ourselves from them.” He’s put a posting, readable by all, on white supremacist website “Stormfront,” but states the meetings are only for those who know him.

Well, we know him. It seems a bit rich that Kyle is concerned about “Moari terrorism” (Note: Kyle’s not big on spelling!)

Let’s take a look at Mr. Chapman’s background.

From the Courier Mail:

Convicted pedophile working for Pauline Hanson
By Steven Wardill
October 19, 2007

SENATE-hopeful Pauline Hanson’s latest tilt at federal politics has been dealt a savage blow with revelations she has knowingly allowed a convicted pedophile to work on her campaign.

Ms Hanson yesterday confirmed she was receiving volunteer help from Bob Dutton, who pleaded guilty in 2003 of sexually molesting two children about 30 years ago.

Concerned parents aware of Mr Dutton’s criminal history told how the pair spent last weekend at a festival in Wynnum-Manly.

Crikey! What’s all this Ustasha nonsense?

From Crikey:

The neo-nazi big night out that never happened
Wednesday, 17 October 2007

Cam Smith writes:

Melbourne’s sporting world has had some unfortunate run-ins with racism in the last year. The attack on Menachem Vorchheimer by a group of Ocean Grove footballers (one of whom was later awarded ‘best and fairest’ by the club) on October 14 last year got things started and McKinnon Cricket Club kept the ball rolling when a number of their players made anti-Semitic comments on Facebook around August (the club expelled a number of players and the Victorian Turf Cricket Association suspended others).

Now, Melbourne Knights Stadium in the multicultural suburb of Sunshine has scored a racially vilifying hat trick by playing host to a neo-Nazi concert on Saturday night. In a political climate which could be charitably described as ‘racially tense’, this was probably not a good thing.

More cowardly attacks in Melbourne

From the Herald Sun:

Another attack on Jews
Mark Dunn
October 17, 2007

A SECOND race attack against Jewish teenagers has occurred in St Kilda with four youths assaulted during an anti-Jewish rant.

Monday night’s assault, in which two 14 and 15-year-old Jewish boys were punched, followed an August attack in nearby Carlisle St in which a Jewish boy was set on by men wielding a baseball bat.

Police interviewed two suspects in relation to the first assault and it is believed at least one of those men was involved in this week’s bashing.

NZ Broadcasting Authority rules on racist broadcast

From the NZ Herald:

ALT TV gets 5-hour ban for racist and sexual text messages
Tuesday October 16, 2007
By Maggie McNaughton

Explicit text messages were mistakenly screened on ALT TV after a moderator hired to check the messages got drunk and let them go to air.

In an unprecedented ruling, the Broadcasting Standards Authority has banned ALT TV from broadcasting for five hours next Monday for serious breaches of broadcasting standards. The station has also been ordered to pay court costs of $5000.

The BSA ruled that Groove in the Park - a music event held at Western Springs Stadium which screened live on the channel on Waitangi Day - breached the standards of good taste and decency and children’s interests, and encouraged denigration and discrimination on the basis of race.

Fascism versus Football

The decision by Melbourne Croatia Social Club to allow their facilities to be used, on Saturday, October 13, by the local branches of two international neo-Nazi organisations (Blood & Honour (B&H) and the Hammerskins) in order to hold a gig is a step backwards, both for the club, and for the image of football in Victoria. It also contradicts the general aims and principles upon which the game is meant to be conducted.

Melbourne ISD 2007 B&H gig at North Sunshine Soccer Clubrooms

Word on the street is that the 2007 Ian Stuart Donaldson memorial gig, a neo-Nazi concert organised by lokkkal branches of the international neo-Nazi networks Blood & Honour and the Hammerskins, is taking place tonight at a the Knights Stadium, a venue which is owned and managed by the Melbourne Croatia Social Club, the in suburb of North Sunshine.

Melbourne Croatia are obviously deeply committed to preserving their sterling reputation in Victoria as a Club that is more interested in football and drinking rakija than the promotion of fascist politics. Or, possibly, the Club has had a change of heart, and is sending a clear message that — in accordance with its prior standing as providing a happy home to Croatian fascists — it’s now no longer even bothering to conceal its hatred of Jews.
