Police to investigate racist flyer in Toowoomba

A Queensland federal MP says he has referred a racist flyer distributed in Toowoomba to police and the federal Attorney-General.

Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane says a woman approached his Toowoomba office after a flyer with racist messages, believed to be linked to the Ku Klux Klan, was left under her car windscreen.

Mr Macfarlane says if anyone else has received the flyers, they should contact police.

“There is no place for racism in Toowoomba, there is no place for racism in Australia and this matter is going to be investigated by the police,” he said.

“I just urge the community to take strong action against anyone who’s circulating these pamphlets.”
