A BLATANT racial attack on a Clovelly Park Aboriginal Housing Trust home has outraged neighbours who have labelled the incident “absolutely disgusting.”

Paint has been thrown at the facade and the words “No Abos” scrawled across the garage door.

Nearby residents, who believe the attack occurred on Sunday night, are angered by the damage and fearful their homes may be next.

“We reckon they were being targeted, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the street doesn’t get affected,” said a neighbour who only wanted to be identified as Daniel. “First it ’s them, but we might be next.”

His partner Sarah said: “It is absolutely disgusting, this attack .. . just despicable.”

A Housing Trust spokeswoman said the home was tenanted. She said no complaint had been made but, after being alerted by The Advertiser yesterday, the graffiti was reported to the Department for Families and Communities for removal within 24 hours.

Other Aboriginal Housing Trust tenants in the area say they have not had problems with vandals before.

One, who did not want to be named, said he had “real good neighbours” and was angry that a racial attack had occurred in what he believed was a safe neighbourhood.

“It’s not good that this happened, especially since we have never had any trouble before, he said.”
