Police say JACK VAN TONEGREN and MATTHEW BILLING could be travelling in a white Toyota Hilux ute with the registered number 1BUB526 or on a white Yamaha motorbike registered 1BN139.

Jack van Tongeren and his fellow accused Matthew Billing have skipped bail and as we say in Aussie parlance, “done a runner.”

When we heard that Jack van Tongeren had not reported to police since 20 February, our first reaction (like his lawyer) was that it could be due to ill health. However, it was subsequently confirmed that his co-accused, Matthew Billing, also failed to report daily to police.

Channel 7 claimed that it took several days before the police began to investigate the white supremacist pair after they breached bail. This may have given them several days’ head start, and police are concerned that they might have travelled interstate.

We’ll keep you posted as news comes to hand.

If you see either of these men, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. They might be driving a white Toyota Hilux ute, and they could be in Perth, out bush in WA, or in the eastern states. Van Tongeren is reportedly “concerned about the health of his mother in Victoria”.

Note that while Jack van Tongeren is pictured here without a moustache, it is entirely possible that he will wear a false one…

The Australian’s report on Jack’s runner features a quote from a former ANM member:

A former member of Mr van Tongeren’s group told The Australian the Vietnam war veteran was a skilled bushman who kept a cool head.

“He will have gone underground for sure - they’ll have a hard time finding him,” said the former group member, who has given information to the police.
