THE white supremacist who first videoed the Cronulla riots and warned non-whites to stay away is a security guard at a central Sydney shopping centre who carries a knife and enjoys shooting, The Daily Telegraph has learned.
Sources said James Newman also bought about 20 balaclavas three months ago and was the recipient and possible distributor of text messages inciting violence against Lebanese.
As previously revealed by The Daily Telegraph, Mr Newman filmed the December 11 Cronulla riots and compiled the video The Battle For Cronulla.
Credited to “White Nationalist TV”, the video depicts skinheads in neo-Nazi regalia taking part in the events and ends with the words: “Not white, not welcome in Cronulla.”
The video was posted on the white supremacist website Stormfront by a user called JN, who has been identified as Mr Newman by anti-Nazi campaigners and other sources.
Mr Newman, thought to live in Wyong, works for SNP Security at Sydney Central Plaza in Pitt St.
Sources said he carries a 7.5cm pocket knife at work and an extendable baton, both of which are illegal.
He goes on shooting trips is a member of the Australia First Party.
SNP managing director Tom Roach said of the claims that Mr Newman brought illegal weapons to work: “We’re looking into that but I find it very hard to believe.”
