Terror Fest explained

“It (Terror Fest) will surely be rife with National Socialists.”

So said ACT Terror Fest organiser AKA Lailoken.

As most of you would have heard by now, the ANU Uni Bar have made the decision not to host this event. If you want to know the actual reasons why they made this decision, you will have to speak to them.

As far as Fight dem back is concerned, this is not an ideal outcome but it is most certainly a most expected one in light of what you are about to read.

See, publicly - Lailoken has been making statements that Terror Fest is “just about the music”, yet privately he was singing a different tune.

For those unfamiliar with the work of FDB, we do a lot of online intelligence gathering. It’s amazing what falls into your lap when you know where to look.

In our case, we just look in the inbox of one of our intel gathering accounts
So here is what Lailoken had to say a few days back:

hahah Hails good to hear that, just today i heard that an anti-racist group had talked to the venue about having racist bands playing, i told him ‘look its black metal its hatred for everything nothing specific’ and he said yeah we like to support freedom of speach as much as we can, just the ANU cant stand that kind of publicity, the anti-racist group also mentioned that ‘Darkim’ were a racist band baaaahahahaha they are a pack of the weakest politically correct bunch of pussies you could ever meet. So they dont have much knowledge of whats going on so fuck them. Mabye they confused Darkim with Drakul my old band which was NSBM *shrugs* but that was why i was very wary about responding to your first e-mail.

Anyway after hearing that last e-mail i will tell you that i can’t say for
sure about any skins being there but it will surely be rife with National Socialists, you will be warmly welcomed.

Keep in contact and i hope to see you at the gig, i’ll probibly be the cunt with an ‘Organiser’ tag around his neck.

Would like to hear more from you, but im sure you know how cautious we need to be in this Zionist world

14/88

For the record, FDB never said anything about Darkim being a racist band, we said that they have made some anti-racist statements on some web forums.

Also, talk of Baal Gadrial hating “everything nothing specific” is a bullshit cop-out. They hate Jews, Christians, Muslims, Africans, Asians and all those other ‘lesser races’ most certainly. Perhaps they do hate all those groups equally. However, they clearly do no hate non-Christian white people. They love their fellow white pagans and well, good luck to them in that respect.

They don’t hate everything and everyone equally - they just hate everyone outside of their ethno-religious group.

Welcome to the 21st century lads, start booking your farewell tour.

Anyway, talk about a red-rag to a bull. You can’t go making statements like “it will surely be rife with National Socialists” and not expect a reaction.

It’s certainly no secret that neo-Nazi and associated white supremacist groups make a habit of recruiting youth at music oriented events. Our sources in the Canberra music scene (and we’re talking people who have a history going back twenty years or more) reliably informed us that the liklihood of racist elements putting in a heavy presence at this event and using it to recruit was highly bloody likely. Hell, the organiser even stated that the place would be ‘rife’ with them.

Judging by the fact he signed his email off with “14/88″ indicates that he would be fairly complicit to any racist machinations taking place at the Terror Fest.

(’14′ = David Lane’s 14 words “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White children” and ‘88′ is code for “Heil Hitler”, ‘H’ being the eighth letter of the alphabet)

Based on the information you have read above, do you really think any venue, uni bar or otherwise would desire to have their premises “rife with National Socialists” (ie Nazis)?

We think not.

The Terror Fest was not canned as a result of pressure from anti-racist groups or because of the Uni bar being unfairly tough on metal. The Terror Fest came unstuck because in this day and age, no-one wants to do business with organised racists, let alone people who go around saying “Heil Hitler.”

The key to this not happening again is ensuring that someone without an inclination to sign his emails off with “1488″ take some ownership of the scene and make it JUST ABOUT THE MUSIC.

Fight dem back would like offer any assistance we can to the other non-racist bands who have been affected by the Terror Fest being canned.

If we can help you sort a new venue over the next few weeks, we will.
