Stormfronters celebrate the legacy of a Chinese ANZAC

The thing is, the ignorant fellows won’t know about it until they read this.

Whiteowl posted this thread yesterday concerning an under-sung hero of the Gallipoli campaign by the name of Billy Sing.

Topic: An Australian to teach muslims our values

Why bother with Simpson and his donkey when there is a much better example from Gallopoli to use.

Billy Sing was a cold-blooded killer. This ace Australian sniper cut down 150 Turks. To the Anzacs in the trenches he was “The Assassin”…

I had heard about this guy been promoted as a big media hero along with Simpson, but i guess he became politically incorrect. Should try and revive his memory around the news networks.

Good find whiteowl! Long live the anzacs!

Lest we forget.

If these guys actually knew anything about the Gallipoli campaign and the ANZAC legend in general, they would know that “Billy Sing, the assassin of Gallipoli” was of Chinese descent.

Chinese-Australian Servicement to be honoured.

The year was 1916. The place, Chatham’s Post on the Gallipoli front line. From across the trenches, Abdul the Terrible was staring down at The Assassin, the formidable Australian sniper responsible for picking off dozens of his Turkish comrades.

Abdul let fly with a volley of shots which missed their target. Then The Assassin carefully took aim, bringing down his nemesis with a shot that caught the Turkish sharpshooter between the eyes.

That, at least, is the legend of Billy Sing, aka The Assassin, the nuggety, dark-haired Queenslander who fought with the Australian Fifth Light Horse regiment at Gallipoli.

Sing was a renowned bushman and kangaroo hunter rumoured to be able to shoot the tails off piglets from a distance of 25 yards.

He was also of Chinese descent, one of 400-odd veterans who have served in the Australian armed forces over the past 100 years and who will be honoured in a special memorial due to be completed later this year.

Does the Baron still say “Good find - lest we forget”?

Is Whiteowl still keen to “revive his memory around the news networks.”?

Fight dem back certainly raises a glass to Billy Sing, as we do to all ANZACs irrespective of their ethnic origins.

Keep checking back with that Stormfront thread. It will more than likely be deleted within 24 hours as these guys could not possibly tip their hat to an Anzac of Chinese, Tiwi Islander, Maori, Rarotongan or Aboriginal descent.
